Smart pluggers use large bibs, sometimes called aprons.

Do they know their sweat pants are on right by the stains on the back?

I had a sister-in-law who would do this with her children’s clothing: when the front of their shirts got dirty, she’d make them turn their shirts around, so that the clean backside of the shirt was now the front. When that side got dirty, she’d make them turn the shirts inside-out. She thought it was ingenious.

And by moving the food stains to the back you get another day’s wear from the sweatshirt. Blame the stains on the kids having a food fight as you walked past the mall’s food court.

That’s why we have designated “eatin’ shirts” when we’re having something messy for dinner at home.

Between laundry days, just turn the shirt around so the clean side is front and wear a jacket.

This all sounds like what my dad told me about when he was young – long before there were “facial” tissues. If he had a cold he would use one handkerchief until it was too wet to use again. It would then be put on the radiator to dry and he would use another one. When that one was too wet to use he would check the first one and hopefully it would be dry and he would switch them – if not he had to find another one while both dried. (This is “Great Depression” story.)
