I once had a Nagah curry in a UK Indian restaurant… I literally lost my voice for several seconds… The cure was lassi… a yoghurt/buttermilk based drink… Never, never drink cold water… it will make it worse…
As people with dairy allergies will attest, this is SO not funny, nor are many of the insensitive comments. I don’t usually care, but, MAN, these tick me off.
I’ve heard it said that if you eat food that’s too spicy, a cold beverage is one of the LAST things you want to consume in order to “put out the fire”. A piece of fresh fruit or a slice of fresh bread does the job far better.

I guess it wasn’t that spicy. I’d suggest some bread – gluten-free.

I’ve thought of buying some soy milk just out of curiosity. But I hate having to throw food out after just taking one taste.
