Do wish hubby had shown me which remote to use and how so I could listen to all the LPs I have.

I bought my WI-FI in 1976 (with my first paycheck) and it still works great.

A few years ago my son was getting into vinyl. So we set up my old stereo (it had been packed away in the original boxes for 15 years). Just to show him how powerful it was I cranked up the volume half way and he complained that it hurt his ears. My daughter, who was on the other side of the house and up stairs, yelled “Are we having an earthquake?”.

High fidelity LPs rocks!

I worked in a Capitol Records plant back in the 70s. Their first album had a raspberry scratch-n-sniff label stuck on the shrink wrap. Whenever a new batch of albums was being pressed, the whole factory smelled of raspberries!

I love listening to my old vinyl LP’s record collection. The LP sound transport me back in time. No further back then the 40’s. There is a difference between listening to todays CD’s and a vinyl record. CD’s are sharp and clear, sterile. Records are alive and vibrant, real.

As I understand it, vinyl was making a comeback a few years ago.

Not sure which streaming service he uses. One of them (Maybe all of them?) does have an offline mode, but not going to open up that box. Still, no substitute for vinyl.

sigh, I miss the cd player… we’ve been stuck with wi-fi for radio and it chooses to work. we have an app to play certain music that my brother has put down. which he hasn’t done since October for Christmas music, three years ago. :L

Nothing wrong with a backup. It’s why you keep all your movie dvds even if can stream them. Wisdom from the pain of not having access to them…….

The reason music doesn’t sound as good as it used to is mostly because I’m almost deaf

I don’t remember how many times my college roommate and I joined the Columbia Record Club. He had a 8 track recorder and I had a dual cassette recorder and Yamaha turn table. We made spending money recording custom tapes. Still have the turnable and about 400 albums.

I have them on my playlist along with many 60s and 70s bands that are long gone but should not be forgotten.

Once again, Uncle Ted and I are simpatico. That is a good thing. : )

I still use a VCR/DVD player.

I still have my 45s, vinyl albums, cassette tapes and a few 8 track tapes. It’s all been digitally recorded, but if the files are ever corrupted, I still have the original source material!

And vinyl – definitely fitting for Uncle Ted!! And the pride of Cleveland, the Raspberries!! R.I.P. the late great Eric Carmen. Awesome strip Chip!
