Been there. Done that.

I may spend the 100 dollars but I will come back with the coffee.

Clever. Old concept, but clever. Fox Trot did this YEARS ago with a Costco run.

Getting increasingly difficult to spend less than $100 at the grocery store. Just sayin’

I can get coffee and not spend $100 on the trip. But I get my beans from a local roaster. They even give a free small cup when you get a bag of beans. (Now don’t pay attention to the rest of my trip later today. I do need to get more coffee this afternoon.)

Why did she lead with “one of us” if she didn’t want him to offer?

That’s more of a female thing. Ask me how I know.

More like $250.

Going just for coffee is a waste of gas. Reduce the number of trips and make a list of other things you need. And don’t forget ice cream!

I’ll get the coffee while my wife spends the other hundred dollars.

It almost always happens to be the most important item that is forgotten!

Pretty small cannister, there. For us, “getting low on coffee” means there’s still two 30-ounce cans in the cabinet.

I have to take a list.

Somebody had tacks for breakfast!

And there you have it!!

I get what is on the list. If my wife comes along, the list magically grows.

My wife has a sign on the fridge that says “I will not complain when my husband goes shopping.”

Anyone else out there make a list, and then organize it according to the layout of the supermarket? You know, for speed and to avoid compulsive purchases?

I order my favorite coffee through the mail…

But he won’t forget dessert!

Unlike a lot of superannuated folk, I’m continuing to get stronger and stronger as I age. For instance, when I was 25 I couldn’t think of carrying $100 worth of groceries in from the car in one trip.

I’ll come home with a new shirt or two, maybe a sweatshirt, oops, I forgot that store…

Alas, that is my husband too. Some of his shopping is… interesting.
