I never tried ice skating. Trying water skiing nearly killed me.

But you could win a break dancing contest with that routine.

Possible plotline:Wanda: Your teacher suggested switching you from figure to speed skating.Zoe: Is that so I can kill myself faster?Wanda: It is a case of using your natural talents.Zoe: So my natural talent is killing myself?

She doesn’t like it

Beginners should be wearing helmets and maybe knee pads/wrist guards. If the beginners are adults, there is a special headband with the brand name “Crashe”. It is padded and protects the head if you fall backwards. A lot of adult beginners at my rink wear them.

Butt is a bad word?

Wow, there are a lot of “B” words it could have been:

Butt, Bum, Bottom, Behind, Back, Body, Bones, Buttocks, Botty, Booty… ☺

Wanda wanted Zoe’s figure skating career to soar, and now Zoe is left sore.

Not well it would seem….

Maybe she’ll like “Crack The Whip” better.

Zoe, until you lose a tooth or two, you aren’t trying hard enough.

I sympathize. I must have had weak ankles…never got the hang of ice skating. Roller skating, however, was a breeze!

It should have started with an "A. . . "; then Wanda would have more reason to be upset. What’s wrong with the word “butt”?

I ached for a week after the first roller skating event. Just six days after the second. Got down to no pain on my part and tried to not hurt others.

It’s Wanda’s fault for making Zoe try a sport she has no interest in, or talent for.

… Wanda I’ve normally been on your side since I started reading this daily again, but 1) it’s just the term butt, come on and 2) You FORCED THIS on her.

And yet – she’s still doing so much better than I would do!

Seriously? Kids say “butt” a lot, it’s a fact of life. Get over it.

skating isn’t that bad, she just has no safety gear
