I’d have liked an assignment like that in school. Write “No, there isn’t” and be done with it.

I would not do a predicting the future work.

Nate is gonna go up to present and he will not have done his work, saying, “The afterlife is nothing, so how could I present about it if it doesn’t exist?”

Not saying I don’t believe in the afterlife at all, but that seems like a “Nate” thing to do

As Americans, we each have a right to our own belief system unless it harms others physically. Emotional “triggering” doesn’t and shouldn’t count. We SHOULD be able to discuss our personal opinions and beliefs rationally and without animosity.

Increasingly, differing opinions are being weaponized against us by the fascism of supposedly liberal people. We must stand against this or lose our freedoms completely and you do that with MORE speech, not less.

In real life: I doubt that such a writing prompt would be given to kids in middle school who are between ages of 11 to 13…. Especially to kids who are in public school and religion is not part of their core social science subjects.

I wonder if Nate is gonna write an essay about Kim Cressly.

I enjoyed Math and Social Studies. But I did have a “Godfrey” kind of teacher in one English class…she liked to assign oral book reports, and I hated getting in front of class, so I would do a book report, but refuse to get in front of class. Instead of giving me a partial grade for doing a book report, she would give me a failing grade for not getting in front of class. I love to read, and grew up reading Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Westerns, etc.

I know that Nate’s family does follow Christian belief, as I have seen Nate praying and referring to God before, and he’s also done it with his family, too.
