BCN cats have a lot of class…

It looks like the children enjoy learning.

I was a year older than my sister. I’d come in every day from first grade and teach my sister what I’d learned. No surprise. I became a teacher.

Pengo is paying particular attention. And Iggy makes a fine Teacher’s Assistant! But Clucky Chicken appears to be truant.

Ora Zella prefers her numbers to go “3…2…1…” and end with a “BANG!”

A googly eyed apple! Add that to the list of things I didn’t know I wanted.

By right the post of professor belongs to Elvis. It is a dignified position for a most dignified cat. (ﾐゝᆽ╹ﾐ)

Me is never like steenky school. A cruel prison it was trying to makes intelliGent cubs dumb and indoctrinationed.

Ora Zella looks adorable and the girl has certainly taken a liking to the pretty tortie!

Even the kittens are attending class! :D

Happy Labor Day! And to all the retail workers (Me!) and anyone else, who have to work today, Happy regular work day!

How many of us would gladly go back to elementary school if it meant we could be children again?

Speaking of age. Today, on Star Date 78137.3, I will have completed my 61st orbit of the Star Sol. Still waiting for my flying cars.

OH= the memories

It’s the first of September and school has been in session for three weeks. We’re not harvesting crops any longer

So the students are Pengo, the Girl, Ora Zella, Iggy, and the fox that I’m sure also has a name. I wonder who will finish top of the class. Puck and the apple is a good throwback.

I remember playing ‘school’ with my aunt (only a couple years older than me) as kids.

My brother is two years older; we used to play with his school flash cards. Also, Mom read to us; I think that helped a lot. I’m a big believer in reading by word recognition, using phonetics as backup, since that’s how I learned to read (the phonetics came with school). I was reading well by kindergarten; I actually remember figuring out the word “national” on my own! (Context is important; I was reading a Peanuts book, and Snoopy said it was National Dog Week.)

I was always very sick with something during very early school years. Fortunately sulfa saved me from a serious case of Pneumonia. But various lung diseases & other things kept me out of school. My mother taught me how to write cursive, & used school text books to keep me up to date in early class work in math, history & social studies.

I have fond memories of school with my brethren. We used to play tug-of-war with long worms during recess.

The kittens and the plushy toys are also in the class!

Is this the same apple that spooked Puck on Feb 11, 2016? i can’t enlarge right now but the eyes in 2016 might not be googly eyes? anyone??

Our daughter played school with her stuffed animals. Regina, a gibbon, was badly behaved—bad language and bad behavior. She spent a lot of time on time out.

On the subject of early, home lessons, both my sister and I learned to read from the comic pages. Thanks to my Mother, she had us reading pretty well before kindergarten. So it’s no surprise that my first lunch box was an old Snoopy lunch box. Complete with metal edges and very breakable thermos. LOL We had a rocking loveseat, so my Mother could rock both of us as she read to us.

I wasn’t even looking at a cat-related comic strip.
