Honeymoon! Still searching for her mom I see. A reminder that in just a few short weeks, we’ll begin to get some answers about that subject.

A “Scottish rummage sale”? There’s a clue in that for sure. What it is, I don’t know.

Honeymoon, hard at e-research, accidentally opens Junior’s mail to a video intended for Dick Tracy? And we are thus privy to a living Jumble puzzle? What does Mr. 13, a.k.a. J-Man, intend by this elaborate public message? And, of course, what is the solution to “I am a Scottish rummage sale”?

Hmm, why do the numbers on his glasses get partially blacked out between panels 3 & 4? I’m told Team Tracy is in charge of the coloring on Sundays, so this has to be on purpose, right? A clue?

Why did an E-mail for Dick Tracy get sent to Junior’s account instead of directly to Tracy?

What’s she doing in his email account anyway? And he’s okay with her “accidentally” opening it, knowing what she’s up to, trying to track down her mom? Just a bit of a stretch here…

    Good Morning, Vista Bill!

Well, a new villain challenges … Dick Tracy through his son? Weird. A Scottish Rummage Sale… I’m stumped. This is amusing since I just re-read “Kidnapped” and am reading “Catriona” for the first time, both by Robert Lewis Stevenson and I’m enjoying all the old Scottish words in them.

Hmm… I think in the UK they might call a “garage sale” or a "white elephant (which I’ve only heard used as a term for a church sale of donated items) " a “Jumble sale.”

So… he’s The Jumble®? But wa’ers to come in the Scottish paRrrRRrt? The only thing I see like that is the Scottie Dog with him. Hmm… Since the dog’s name is Crypto… is this then a Cryptogram? (Sorry. I cannae resist a pun!)

@ Mongoose You are correct about the term jumble sale.

That is why in the fourth panel, the jumble-like squares are so prominent. The answer to his riddle will provide the letters to the four words for the puzzle and then the circles will provide the ultimate clue.

First let me say I love this strip and what the new team has done for the Tracy legacy. I admire the great artwork but have noticed that the Sunday strip art is more angular vs. the dailies where the line is more fluid. Does anyone else notice this? The bigger question is why the difference ? different inker on Sunday?

I posted this late yesterday and thought I would add it again since a lot of people probably missed it. This is another blast from the past: the Painted Lady (1969). She was the daughter of Mr. Intro (1968 villain) and a hair thief. As Lizz noted, “most of her clothes are painted on.” Tracy was investigating the Painted Lady’s criminal activities and called her for a date (the phone call she receives here), but when Tracy showed up at her place, he discovered she had been killed (by her boyfriend as it turns out). Another great Gould creation from a period when his creative and artistic abilities were at their peak. I especially like the panel where she’s standing in the water painting herself in front of the mirror. The water, the plant, the bottles of paint, the brushes, the stylized tables, just awesome. Plus if you look closely at that scene you might get the idea that her clothes are painted on. The panel where the man is holding the push button phone (high tech stuff in 1969!) is gorgeous, too.

Has anyone noticed a change in here this past week? To answer Jim’s hint (or better said, “to take the bait”), they are all prime numbers. Are we going to do a segue to prime roast? I’ve said it before; Team Tracy has it all over our collective minds at this point! Which is their purpose!

The only reference I could find was from “The Millionaire of Dismal Downs” in which $crooge McDuck buys a broadcloth frock coat at Scottish rummage sale and apparently winds up getting paid for the transaction.

This guy’s pretty arrogant, sending clues to Tracy even before he commits his first crime. Betcha Tracy and the MCU will outsmart him in the end.

Night,.Re your comment:.“Maybe our new villain couldn’t be sure he could get through channels at the precinct.”.First of all, Tracy, in his dual role as Chief of Detectives and commander of the Major Crime Unit, does not work out of a local station, but out of headquarters..Second, in Tracy’s City, local stations are not called “precincts,” but rather “districts.”

The Scots would probably use the term “Jumble Sale” when referring to a rummage sale. Either that or a “Car Boot Sale”, but I’m guessing “Jumble” is what our “friend” is referring to.

Working on this strip has become educational in so many ways.I have a question. Did Gravel Gertie strike Measles with an ax, or with an axe?One spelling is currently considered the correct one vs the one I learned in school. When did it change, or have I always been spelling it wrong?

Axe or ax is accepted. Both are nouns, but in Louisiana, it is also a verb. (Ax me a question)
