Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
@MJ Emigh You have GOTTA love Davidâs WTF look as Jeff says, âThat many?â I absolutely have been hooked into DT. I promise to leave the premises soon but this is just too cool to ignore. For now. I will leave you alone soon. NoâŠ.really^^Mikeyj said, 1 minute ago
Commander Tracy âeh? I like the sound of that. Sheâs becoming a regular Encyclopedia Brown. A much updated version (as mentioned by MikeyJ) of course.
Interesting that there was a picture of Moon Maid on the wall. To date, Gouldâs inheritors have been trying very hard to forget that M.M. ever existed. That whole space sideline story was one reason why the strip lost so many readers druing the 60s and 70s.
âA diversion from the Jumbler arc, as I had suspected we might get at this pointâŠ.Honeymoon Tracy is a true junior detective, carrying the family legacy forward. Do Crimestoppers by-the-numbers indicate how wide a net of informants she already has? It seems clear that she will track down âMoon Maid,â but that Pop Popâs intervention will turn out to be requiredâŠ.
ââŠâŠwaterfront area doing grocery runsâŠ.âThis definitely puts some suspicion on the authenticity of Moon Maid. Sounds like your typical hangout area for criminals and other neâer-do-wells, doesnât it?
Thumbs up for the return of Honeymoon, crimestopper commander seeking mother Mysta. Thumbs down for the decidedly poor coloring of todayâs strip. Better to be seen in glorious back and white or with the superior coloring at Comics Kingdom.
Rod Gonzalez, T.E. Lawrence, and Sisyphos â I think weâre in agreement, weâve had enough of the Jumbler for now; time for some Moon Maid. I think Lawrence is right; Moon Maid did cause great loss of readership in the 60s, especially when Apollo verified that the moon could never have had a Moon Valley as depicted by Gould. Question is: Why is Moon Maid so popular now? Is Dick Tracy âtimelessâ (as one commented last week), or is this nostalgia?
That was enjoyable, gentlemen. Honeymoon is doing her mother proud. I know very little of the era in which she was born but I eagerly look forward to the new strip. I only wish the IDW books had started about a decade earlier. By now they would have been or past the 70s.
OK, Iâve got nothing against Honeymoon (why would I?) but perhaps sheâs developed a wee bit of an obsession over Moon Maid (I know, I know, family ties not withstanding). Perhaps this explains her rather crazed look in panel three. Just a thought, donât hate me for it! S.I.T.O.A.N.M.I.
atomivdog and night-guant49: Thanks for noticing (me). Iâm not âdownâ on Moon Maid, but I understood the difficulties her character and those story lines brought during that era. Today, apparently she has a pretty big fan base. I guess the question is, are these new readers? Or are these fans of her from the goodâl days (with apologies to John Hartford)âŠ
and one last thought â for what itâs worth â I hope that this is the ârealâ Moon Maid coming back! It was hinted earlier today that perhaps this is going to be an imposter, as suggested by her having been seen with âaccomplices.â Such a story line would be rather depressing after all this hoopla and buildup. On the other hand, what kind of âmistakeâ can Team Tracy come up with to explain that, perhaps, it wasnât Moon Maid who died in 1978?And when will they let Honey show her horns again, too?
My guess is (And always has been), that this Moon maid is either an imposter, or a clone (with an artificial memory) , unless the authors want to make Juniorâs life and marriage a living hell
You miss SDM who would write and post with quite a flair, His postings not for the squeamish who labeled him unfair. This is your day when your sun shines brightly And the nighttime moon lights your path nightly; Good news! SDM is alive and well and still posting among us. A critical mind is still his forte but without all the fuss. Derogatory nicknames for his foes he no longer displays; Albeit his attacks on artwork and storyline flow as always. Now it is YOUR job, all you sharp DT fans out there, To discover his new âhandleâ use logic, wisdom and be aware His M.O. is like a signpost to clearly lead you to his lair. Certain posters have already solved this riddle, I am certain, Check with e-a-n-r-e-g-v for more clues to lower this curtain.
gee on the San Antonio Express News website Honeymoonâs shirt was green whatâs the deal here???!!!âŠotherwise interesting looks like Honeymoon might be a detective when she grows up like her grandpa
