I have respect for Dr. Ghote. Maybe he did finally successfully find a way to clone human/humanoid beings.

He was hornswoggled just like Stellaluna and Retik.

Illegal mechanisms? what does he mean by that?

HOLY MAJOR REVEAL!We are getting our first authoritative insight into the question of the new “Moon Maid.” And while this is not a detailed and complete answer, it seems to suggest that the idea of a “regenerated Moon Maid” may be close to the mark. Or perhaps the term “clone” is broad enough. I hope we will get to find out in greater detail before these two kill each other!

Hmmm… I was one of the first to suggest that MM2 was a clone, then, later the story convinced me she was an imposter…. now clone seems like the right one again…. oi!!!

So, who is this “claimed-to-be-legitimate” sponsor, I wonder.

I am wondering if losing her powers might signal the beginning of the end for MM2? The idea being that she may have serious genetic flaws. Remember when she was first introduced she had her mouth covered for awhile, which suggested to me that not all things were right to begin with.

Well, if Mysta turns out to be a clone, that would pretty much be the end of the story.

To many of us, a “clone” would still be an imposter. A high tech imposter, but still an imposter.

End of story.

Still, this is the biggest stretch so far in this series: Are Mike and Joe expecting us to believe that Zy Ghote is, in fact, an honest guy?

It’s impossible to outguess Mike and Joe, et al. That’s what makes tis an outstanding comic strip. I do hope that MM/Mysta will always be a ‘question mark’ and will be around from time-to-time.

If some people are confused by moving from one part of the story to another, how can they follow novels, tv shows and movies which do it all of the time? Some people need to work on concentration more.______________________

I totally agree. I have no problem following the story and I don’t think most posters here have trouble either.

From what I read in Panel 2, it seems to me that you all may be jumping the gun with the “clone” reference.

The first words out of Ghote’s mouth in P2 were: “I brought Moon Maid back to life…” Nowhere in the strip was the word “clone” used. (Note to Sisyphos: Nor was the word “regenerated”.)

So the questions remains out there. Is this MM a clone or the real deal? And if the latter, how did she survive the car bomb?^^If she was “brought back to life”, then she didn’t survive the car bomb, and by the nature of the bomb , under the dashboard, rather than in the engine (That was Littel’s specialty), there would have been very little left besides some burnt DNA

Thanks for the support, SDM. I have been nominated twice for the Joseph Jefferson Awards (Chicago’s version of the Tony Awards) for my set designs.

Although proven to have committed fraud, Ghote was never presented as anything less than a brilliant scientist and had won the Nobel Prize. His problem is that he keeps associating with less reputable scientists like Dr. Will Carver and Dr. S. Tim Sail.

His motivation to commit fraud was only to gain funds for further scientific research. So his goal was a noble purpose, he just went about it in a criminal manner.

Perhaps he has made a breakthrough in genetic manipulation. He is now realizing that once again, his discoveries will be tainted by fraud. It wouldn’t surprise me if this fight starting today didn’t lead to a murder. After all, this is a crime strip. I don’t know that this will happen, I’m just saying that it wouldn’t surprise me.
