Please, everyone, we can’t let Stephan down. He’s counting on us. Do your part and flame this board with political rants. Every little bit helps. Ask not what your cartoonist can do for you, but what you can do for your cartoonist.

Liberals have some, er, interesting ideas of what conservatism is. Oh well. I wonder if Susie Derkins will show up.

It’s not on this site, but I’ve often thought that the comic strip “Zits” may show us a bit of Calvin’s future. Others have pointed this out too.

Hobbes is a little too extreme to be a conservative. I’m sure Sean will tame him down a bit. Meanwhile, Goat, drink your tea! Rat, drink your beer! Flamers, drink your kool-aid!Pastis is exploring the territory once held exclusively by Berke Breathed, the Equal Opportunity Satirist (jabbing the hot-air balloons both Left and Right)!

I’m constantly amazed and dismayed by the people who allow other people to tell them that “left” and “right” are actually important concepts. People need to think for themselves, or the country will continue to be run by political marketers.

I started out more conservative and grew to be more liberal over the years. But then I suppose you have to have actual life experience before that happens—not your skin color or your penis or your money insulating you from everything except getting beat up in a bar by a redneck because you winked at his girlfriend. And that never, ever teaches ’em anything, alas.
