It’s your last chance to do stuff like that and get away with it because you’re not “adults”, Luann.

“Brought to you” by…Weary-Os…. “When you’ve given up trying to decide what’s for breakfast… you’ll know where to find us!…” – Fool Aid brand drinks… “Break down those walls at your kids’ next social… serve them the sweet (did we mention sweet?) taste of Fool Aid…you’ll have self-entertaining guests… and an excuse to buy that new furniture, after all!….” – 17 3/4 cereal… From General Spills… “Cos you can’t wait for 18 or 19!….” – Cheaties…. “The shortcut to a great day!….” – And by….Tick-Czar Pictures… “Cos ‘the ’Mouse’ told us to!…”

Why not call it the Childhood Swan Song Party? Once you reach ‘18’ you can never have do overs again or act like a kid without being put down for it. But…always remember that inside every adult is a kid wondering ‘what just happened?’.

Your joy is your own… not others’… – And it’s alright, as long as you don’t show up for work looking for someone to tell you a bedtime story, or bring your “Teletubbies” lunchbox to work… as a matter of fact, it’s alright, so long as it’s not the Teletubbies’ anything ….. – Anything! ……

I’m not coming unless the jammies have feet, or at least they have those socks that fit all your toes.
ORMouseworks over 10 years ago
There are real adult jams out there that have feet! I saw a pair in one of those odd catalogs I keep getting in the mail… ;)

I just put my IS, Katie, to bed, and, as Shakespeare wrote in his “Antony and Cleopatra”, “…the long day’s task is done, And we must sleep.” ’Nite all… ;)

Don’t you just HATE it when people take you literally! Here, though, I think we have a toss-up, , as to who is pulling whose chain.

Just one more time for them to be together..Luann wants to celebrate being an adult.

Never suggest anything you don’t like; the group may go for it

I must agree with Luann. If Bernie and Delta are serious, it’s a terrible idea. If they are kidding, it’s a terrible joke.
David Huie Green LoveJoyAndPeace over 10 years ago
Luann’s ideas about gambling, tattoos, skydiving and movies of adults paid to perform certain sexual acts for filming were bad ideasFruitloops on the other hand …Howard’s mother from THE BIG BANG THEORY would approve

Actually, this shows a very real major transition from High School to College.
In High School, you don’t want to do anything that makes you look immature. In College, you don’t care how doing something makes you look as long as it is fun!!

Oh no, not fruit loops! Those might lead to… cocoa puffs!

Jeez, I actually agree with Bernice and Delta. It sounds like fun. Luann was trying to be ironic (Hell, what was she aiming for? Brandy and cigars?!?), but i suspect if they do what is suggested, they will have a great time. No one is too old for that sort of party IMHO.
Willow Mt Lyon over 10 years ago
That comment shows that Luann is ready to go on with her life, and I am looking forward to the Luann we will get to know six months from now.

Not that Lu would really be above doing what they’d suggest, though… She has also turned on SpongeBob, and “vegged out”, and Brad “caught her in the act” of doing it…. – She’s probably just thought it was done a bunch, already. – Ironically, though, while Bern and Delta were busy with their studies and “community caring”, Lu was pursuing “non academic studies” and the like. So, perhaps this is also a thing of B&D working hard on their own “adult preparation”, and this comes as a sort of welcome break, and Lu has been working hard at her “adult preparation” which consists of pursuing things that would seem “straight out of a romance novel”, and feels ready to do what she’d characterize as “more adult”….

This sounds like the kind of party Gunther would crash. And even stay up later than 10 pm for.
JayBluE over 10 years ago
“And shouldn’t it be “Saturday Morning After Fever”?^Well, the reason I chose to go about it in the way that I did, was for the biggest reason… because “Saturday Morning” used to = cartoons!… Having a “fever” for the Weekend Chill Animation Cavalcade-extravaganza-palooza-parade-a-marathonis “Saturday Morning Fever”.. the way they’re talking about it, they’re “gung ho” (well, 2/3 are)…. so, it would seem like ‘fever’, as in “pac man fever”… – Secondary to this, it would seem to flow well, to go from “Saturday Night Fever” (which would be a story about “sophisticated fun” and choices, per se) to “Saturday Morning Fever” (about enjoying the “simple pleasures”)….

-If it was instructions on how to create the great parody comics, it may have been removed (some of the parodies were apparently pulled off the site, for whatever reason). Thanks for trying, anyway!-Have a great evening; I’m burned out from monitoring the Florida Legislature and I’m gonna give my eyes a rest now….

BS – Yeah, Yeccch. My stomach was already upset! Now I’m logging off.*But first… this is like the alternative-Rose-Bowl parade the year Liz Taylor married the young lad. “He” too came marching along in diapers & pacifier. Our memories are at fault when we imagine youth as having been all fun and no responsibility.

I’m with Luann. Toy Story? Not with Despicable me, Shrek, How to Train a Dragon…

This week has been rather stale— I want to see things building up to a blockbuster of a Prom Night story! The birthday thing just isn’t that compelling…

Diaper humor is rather odious and disgusting. As a child, I never had to wear them because I processed food so completely that there was no waste. I was 21 years old when I first had to go to the toilet. In the 40 years since then, I have only done it about 3 or 4 times.

Yeah, I guess it is Greg giving a bit of pause….. – Though Greg said he never really abandoned the “gag” style… he mixes it up a bit… – But I must say too that last week’s strips and this week’s have had a sort of…. “different”… air to them…..

Ah, Yes! The teenagers of today are full of anguish. They have problems with emotions and relationships. Their parents, grandparents and great grandparents never went through such things, because life in the old days was as close to perfect as can be imagined. The current high school generation is the first to experience struggles and difficulties in growing up!
