So many ways for this cat to go. I like the “time release” idea, and doubt seriously that it’s natural causes. Either way, I’d much rather be questioned by Warbucks and Sam than Punjab and Asp!

Another unexpected twist. I like! Axel or maybe the Butcher obviously has a hold on this guy. Bad enough to give him a heart attack it seems.

Captain has a weak heart? More likely, he meant precisely what he said (“I can’t say”); he’s under the control of an implanted hypnotic (or the like) suggestion intended to insure that he would never reveal too much. If Sam and Daddy can get him revived, I would think it’s time to bring in Punjab, with his mysterious mystical powers to open Captain’s mind. If he expires…, well, they at least have a few strands to probe….

The boat captain knew where he took Annie and the Butcher, but he was correct when he said he cannot tell. Something was implanted in his mind or his brain to prevent his talking.

I find it interesting that he knows who the Am is. How does he know? Has he encountered the Am before?

Dang, just how bad is that MCU coffee? LOL!

Didn’t expect him to self-destruct!Okay – and now we wait til tomorrow, the one problem with daily comics.

“Welcome aboard Tracy. I’m glad to have you as part of my team”.Warbucks was pleased that someone as esteemed and experienced as Dick Tracy would agree to meet with him to discuss joining his security team. He didn’t put much stock in everything he’d learned about Tracy’s recent difficulties and falling out with his chief. “Different philosophy towards how the job should be done, that’s all”. He reassured him when Tracy felt obligated to mention his disputed with the chief. Warbucks gave Tracy all the information he knew regarding Annie’s whereabouts as well as access to all the funds he might need while stressing how important it was that she not find out he was having her trailed.“She’d get really upset with me for not trusting her”. He chuckled as he and Tracy shook hands to seal the deal. “Don’t worry Warbucks, I’ll locate Annie and keep you updated on how she’s doing without her ever knowing I was there”. “Dick, I know you’ll do a splendid job. We’re very similar you know. Tracy was curious over what Warbucks just said and his face showed it. Warbucks began to laugh. “We’re just two old dinosaurs who can’t help but do things the old fashion, hands on way. Tracy smile at what Warbucks just said. “Perhaps you’re right Oliver. But you shouldn’t be calling me old. You look years older than me and I have better hair”. “Bah, didn’t anyone tell you bald is in”? The two of them shared a final laugh as Warbucks walked Tracy to his private jet for the flight to Chicago..

“Well, this great adventure of mine is sure off to a roaring start”! Annie couldn’t suppress the disappointment welling up in her over the lack of anything happening the past week. “Just my luck to come here during what has got to be the most peaceful, uneventful week in Chicago’s history”. Sitting by the desk in the motel room she was staying at Annie decided to turn on the TV to see if there was anything of interest on. “She knew that her “Daddy” would be biting at the bit to locate her and bring her back home before she was ready. .

“Sure glad I registered under the made up name of Shirley Bell instead of my real name”. She knew that it was only a matter of time that either her daddy or someone sent by him would try to locate her. She realized staying one step ahead of them would be a challenge but she found herself welcoming the challenge as she dozed off to sleep..To Be Continued,,,,,

It seems that what the informant wishes to say he cannot say. If the brain is no longer the boss, I suspect Axel is to blame.

Holy Darth Vader! (Remember the first Star Wars – or was it the fourth?).We’ve been given enough clues to believe that Annie’s 1944 is fake, though Annie either (a) doesn’t know it or (b) is trying to get Tracy to “play along” with something – again, we don’t know what..And yet, the unseen and, as yet, officially unknown bad guy has enough power to silence a witness without his physical presence?.To be fair, we’ve also been given some clues to believe that Annie’s 1944 may be “real” after all. Most of them are Annie herself, though others have asked just who would have the resources to put together such a complete and convincing fake Simmons Corners in 1944..At the end of the day, all we have is that obviously fake 1944 calendar!

What changed? I can think of several possibilities but I’m not sure what you have in mind. Reading this again, I now realize that the first mate was thrown overboard. I somehow thought it was an actual dog that belonged to the first mate. Maybe it was worded that way to make it seem less violent for young readers.
