We have to guess what Cauldfield’s Halloween costume will be (a character from a famous work of fiction) based on the “clues” like this ice cube. Frankenstein seems too obvious, so we need more hints.

Maybe “The Wizard of Oz”.

The Call of the Wild?

OK, I’m going to get killed for that one: Climate change.

“To Build a Fire” perhaps? In which the protagonist judges how cold it is by whether or not his spit freezes before it hits the ground?

As it builds, I’m guessing “Moby Dick.”

The ice floe scene from Frankenstein?

If, in the scene, there was a cheap lean-to purchased from Wal*Mart, it could be “The Winter of Our Discount Tent.”

I initially thought of Fahrenheit 451, but it seems doubtful.

Possibly refers to Uncle Tom’s Cabin: Eliza escaped over the Ohio river by leaping onto ice floes.

The flight to freedom across ice flows in “Uncle Tom’s cabin?”

“Disgusting” and “Chill” argue for To Build a Fire, but it’s still too soon to tell. We’ll have to see how the clues progress.

Haha! I just noticed Mrs. Olsen’s pumpkin sweater/sweatshirt… wonderfully funny and fun!!!!

Eliza on the ice (Uncle Tom’s Cabin)? Al Gore’s movie? Superman’s Fortress under global warming? Ice Ice Baby? Mr. Freeze in Batman’s sauna? So many possibilities.

Frazz went all out on HIS Halloween costume, huh? The guy’s a dead ringer for the Pistons’ Ben Wallace (not).

My first thought was Iceman Cometh, as well. Who Goes There….now THERE’s a scary story… Never saw either movie. The story was enough!
