Who knew? It’s the parents’ turn to raise a finger… then stick it in their ear, do the same thing with the other ear, and go: “La! La! La!! I can’t hear you!!!!” – 9 times out of 10, it’s something “minor”. But it’s crazy how a parent has to go down the “checklist of worry” and see if they have to “cross off” any on their list…

Even if someone knows or feels that they have to stop worrying, it’s not as bad as when a parent may stop caring . Now that would be a big problem…

I just had horrific visions of my own daughter making this same announcement someday, and the thoughts that would be racing through my mind at that moment.

You mean that Geico commercial? Yeah, kinda nice… LOL!– No, seriously, though- If only “mainstream” Top 40 could sound like this more! that Korg is the sound that kept me “glued” to it… that and the sparse percussion, and “wash” of guitar. He got the sound of “ocean waves” right, in the textures of the instrumentation, for sure! IMO, even better than the song “Safe” by Olivia Broadfield. Also “took the liberty” of also checking out the original “house” version. Reminds me of a bit of “Royksopp”, “Moby” and a little “Cardigans”….– Okay, I guess back to “original Luann programming”…

Do they really think their college aged daughter is still a virgin?

She wouldn’t announce that she’s having sex to her father, maybe her mom, but not dad. She probably finished a school assignment or cleaned her room.

She’s much too sheveled to have just had sex, so my first dirty thought is out….

Personally, I think she is talking about a school project we haven’t heard about.

And if she isn’t, who cares? As long as she uses condoms along with the pill/IUD/Implanon/Nuvaring so she avoids STDs and babies.

Luann has always been framed as a Family comic. However if Luann is announcing THAT deed, we are in a new arena. But doubtful it was THAT deed. Probably no middle class 18 year old ever dropped THAT line on her parents with such bravado. Nevertheless, now that they’re college kids, it’s time for more real world stuff to kick in. Should get more interesting. The days of Archie & Veronica are over. For Better or For Worse made a good start.

Why all the sexual overtones? It could be that she finished her creative art assignment ot that she finally organized her room. After, she could be coming from her bedroom and there are no other house guests.

Must be some REALLY special accomplishment. When was the last time that Luann was this thrilled about anything, especially accomplishing something?

My daughter was leaving for a day on a boat with friends when her boyfriend asked if she remembered to take her pill. My wife freaked out and asked what kind of sex orgies they had on this boat. My daughter told her it was a seasickness pill and told her mother she had a dirty mind. Then went upstairs and said, “But thanks for reminding me…”
