Éclat, huh? A lot of verve… panache… exhuberance… je ne sais qoui.. and a bunch of other “Fancy-pants” words that mean: “I’m too good for this place!” Well, in Zébo’s mind, anyway… He may suggest “style for school”, but perhaps he means “for his own sake”… – Room for an “expansive” exhibit, huh? More “seeds” to water Frank and Nancy’s “inkling” of opportunity… – If they’re not careful, they’re gonna end up "meeting sharks "… with or without a " tank "…. – All the same, it does seem to make the pieces “come together” more for this idea being “kicked around”… and causes Frank and Nancy to hear “the sound of coins dropping” at the same time…

Frank and Nancy, don’t do it! Don’t endanger your retirement funds with a wild scheme like this!

I begin to understand why Luann sometimes seems so impulsive. The apple does not fall far from the tree…

$$ Ka-Ching!!!$$ Nothing makes you see dollar signs like the idea of a community college art gallery!

Seriously, what? If they were passionate about art, I could understand. This really isn’t a great investment opportunity on purely financial side. Weren’t you just standing around sneering at the displays? “This is art?”

Personally, rather than starting a new storyline with the building renovation right now, I would like to see Toni and Brad’s engagement/ wedding brought to the front this summer. They’ve officially been a couple now for over 2 years. (Just my opinion.)

Yeah. Yeaaaaah! A Space with that “Artistic Energy” Stuff and Full of those Ye-Cats things Professor Bozo was Talking about.

The Warehouse, Of Course! A Place Where ALL the Crappy “Art” in the City Can Be Gathered and Displayed!

(Then one Night, someone does a “Reichstag” burning the Joint to the GROUND and Pa and Ma DeGroot Collects the Insurance Money!!)

Great Idea! Frank, You Sell Zippy on the idea Whilst Nancy Gathers Various and Sundry Oily rags and Discreetly Places them in the Walls of the NEW “Gallery”……,

I’d say give the phony enough rope to hang himself (metaphorically), but Zébo is not big enough to do that. Instead, his inflated ego would expand to fill the warehouse and guarantee its failure as an enterprise.

Oh my goodness! RB2 may end up being right after all in his prediction about Frank and Nancy…… If the two of them really do invest a whole boat-load of money along with TJ in that warehouse…. for Zebo’s “Gallery” for fine art….. geez…. it is going to be akin to the movie “The Money Pit” for sure. I cannot fathom their community being able to drum up even 1/10th of the art sales necessary to keep the investment potential into the warehouse FINANCIALLY at even the break even point, let alone being profitable. An art “Gallery” isn’t really something that can be viable unless it is there long term and that would seem to me to prevent any other possible uses for the warehouse (a stage for plays, a restaurant, a reception hall, or whatever). That both Nancy and Frank are wistfully contemplating this venture…. is scary, and a bit disturbing. It feels almost like the start of a horror film! :)

I think if this gallery comes to fruition, it will not just be an art gallery, but a craft boutique as well. Yesterday’s strip pretty much telegraphed it, with Crystal and Dez discussing their friends’, and Crystal’s, creative endeavors.

[ another comment, now that I am ameliorating my initial shock with a large, dark roast coffee and a bowl of vanilla-tictured burley ] With this potential warehouse/gallery idea being actually being sincerely contemplated by Frank and Nancy…. this seems to suggest a few pleasant things as well:1. It appears that art is going to continue to be a part of Luann’s college experience. That is a nice thing to focus on IMO.2. With the art story arcs likely to continue, that suggests that several characters introduced here will also continue…. Zebo, Jacque (aka “Jock”), Emo (aka “Goth Dude”). I really have liked all these characters, so their being likely part of the continuing story is pleasant to me. 3. With Greg’s obvious affinity for art (as an artist himself), I think a focus of the strip being on art, the art process, and the philosophy of art could be VERY entertaining, refreshingly uncommon, and (at least for me) a continuing draw (pun intended). So, even though I do think Nancy & Frank are NUTS if they go through with the “Gallery” Warehouse scheme, I also do think it could make some interesting stories… prior to when Nancy and Frank have to file Chapter 11 status. :)

Good points – what’s going on with the Summer Wedding? Will we see Gunther Grow? What shall happen between Gunther and Tiffany? Why do Tiffany and Burnice live on campus at Moonie U, yet Quill and Gunther don’t. Will Frank and his wife go broke before retirement or will TJ swoop in and do something with the Warehouse… and why doesn’t the community have a better Art Center? All this and more (maybe) in our future.

Zebo, mon ami, you do deserve more space. But there’s this issue called— money. You want FREE space. Even if you charge students for the exihibition space, 30% of $7 will not pay much rent.

So mom & dad, this is no time to be thinking of the warehouse plan.

Frank and Nancy were sensible enough when they bought Mrs. Horner’s house and rented it out to Brad and TJ (with attendant insurance). Why is"The Warehouse Plan" so enticing that they would overlook the massive holes in the idea?

To copy and paste, first, highlight what you want to copy, then right-click on your mouse and choose “copy”. Second, go to the “reply” field, right-click and select “paste”. Simple as that, where text is concerned.

For bold type, use an asterisk immediately before and immediately after (without spaces) the text you want in bold.

    Didn’t work for me either!!

All joking aside, this truly was an amazing course in Intro to Art. Students reviewed their Art History lesson, made that into the raw material for future art, made original art, exhibited & sold it. All in one course. “A” for you, Prof. Zebo.
