Hi Puddles, good to see you. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Gunther is pacing his room. Quill is gone, he’s still ticked off by the seductress, Rosa, who lured him to Peru and then broke his heart, and now his imagination is getting all jazzed by the femme fatal, Tiffany. Those newly awakened hormones are most distracting……..maybe he should go and sew himself a new shirt.

I have a hunch that Prudence will not look anything at all like that. And as I stated yesterday jealousy only drives people away. Actually that is just another word for distrust.

You’re right to be jealous Luann. The girl in your head is way hotter and more interesting than you and theater people are not known for their fidelity.

Anyway, this whole depiction of what Prudence is like is obviously just in Luann’s imagination, because we all know that in fact Quill is interested only in inner beauty. Fortunately, Luann is truly beautiful inside, having no traces of possessiveness or jealousy.

Implausible (who I presume is RB2): I just wanted to tell you that I am sincerely glad you are back in the comments. Your perspective is quirky and interesting. You make me see and think about the story in interesting, new ways. I like that. I know that sometimes people think you are too provocative. However, I tend to enjoy hearing the many different perspectives all of us bring to the comments section.

8This is going to be a very interesting week of Luann being freaked out by her own jealously. The reality is that Quill will do whatever Quill does. If he is “unfaithful” then that is valuable information for Luann to know. If he is faithful (which Luann should ASSUME he will be instead of getting jealous), then all is fine regardless of whether Prudence looks like Marlyn Monroe or one of the puppet characters from H.R. Pufnstuf. As a few folks said above… the JEALOUSLY that Luann is showing is a real negative.

she doesn’t have to imagine Jessica Rabbit, in this day and age there HAS to be pictures of that group posted somewhere, she can probably look them up on facebook.

There is no sign that Luann doesn’t trust Quill. Her imagination is going, but she is not saying anything to Quill that would make her sound jealous. We can’t control our feelings very much, but we can control our words and actions. Luann’s words and actions don’t show any jealousy.

Luann is in that transition stage where the hormones and imagination are at a higher level than her logic and maturity. It’s sorta’ like a figure skating competition ………you can’t win it in the short program, but you can sure lose it. A lot of lives are ruined by youthful mistakes. So, don’t be in a rush, you can screw up your life at any age along the line.

You’re right about the pronunciation, but I grew up in Pittsburgh, and we always called ourselves ‘yinzers’ in print…

“A Streetcar Named Deisire”, eh? Having re-read it as an adult, there was NOTHING romantic about it— just about abuse and abuse.

Funny how Lu imagines Pru to be a bru-nette. Most women would be more scared of a blonde bombshell. Since they’re doing only theater stuff together, don’t sweat it kiddo.

So… Quill calls Luann and at no point does he say that he misses her or ask how her week is going. Instead, his input consists of we, me, we, Prudence, gotta run. Combine that with the fact that Luann is still pretty young and this is her first serious romance, and I think her runaway imagination is totally predictable and understandable.

I can agree with you about the Greeks, NG 2 … but I think jealousy is an especially negative “humanizer”.
