“Who’s that knocking at my door?”“Who’s that knocking”: 1959 release by The GeniesListen on Youtube (live recording)
Notable for appearing at the end of — and being the inspiration for the title of — the 1967 filmWho’s That Knocking at My Door), Martin Scorsese’s feature directorial debut and Harvey Keitel’s acting debut
Hold the presses, clear the slateDick Tracy’s apperantly on a dateA sexy dame with a hairy chinShe looks a lot like a KardashianOf course we know it’s all a lieDick’s as loyal as mom’s apple pieBut what we see is what we getThe truth is buried when dirt gets wetHe’ll have to prove that what we seeIs not the sin it appears to beHow ironic that deliverance might get it’s startWith boldness from a killer with a sensitive heart.
There’s no doubt about it now, this is either to blackmail or humiliate Tracy. Or both. Notta is planning a different kind of revenge than I had expected, which is good.
Wow, Notta all dolled up, with painted legs no less. Ready for her big date with Tracy! Funny how it makes me think of Tracy’s date with the Painted Lady that never happened.
First song I thought of when I saw that was “Hot Legs” by Rod Stewart. But how about this?: “Somebody’s knocking. Should I let him in? Lord, it’s Dick Tracy. Would you look at him?”
When I saw the opening line, I was thinking of another song — “Barnacle Bill,” a rather bawdy song. However, that line is sung by the “fair young maiden” on the other side of the door. The lyrics go downhill quickly. :P
What’s red all sizzlin’ about ?!-————————————— If there were sound, Notta’s instructions to Blaze while the camera is rolling would prove the video was fake.(This also tells us there’s no sound, so Putty Puss can sing his dialogue like he’s in an operetta.)
but what if Putty Puss here has a really lousy singing voice, all gravelly and off-key?-————————————-You don’t complain about it to his face – whichever one he’s using.
the ironic part of this is….blaze is pretty much unknown to tracy and the MCU/S because theres never been a trace of her…all her info and identity have been kept “off the record” so to speak, by the various gangs she’s served so she doesn’t NEED “revenge on tracy” for anything really
With heels so highSee Notta flyRight into “Tracy’s” arms. With legs so longI hear a songSwing to Notta’s charms.Shutterbug BlazeA steamy hazeWith Putty she’d trade places.Henna rubs offNever enoughPut Notta through her paces.
I don’t think making Tess mad is the purpose of these pictures and videos.I’m thinking that tomorrow they will be in the hands of Wendy Witchell. When Notta said she wanted to get Tracy “out of the way” she was not thinking of murder. She was thinking of scandalizing him publicly.
No doubt about it, this is going to be a major scandal. I think Tess will understand it’s all a fake, but Tracy will be in a dogfight to prove his innocence if the video and stills are released to the public. “Hot Legs” Fallar is creating a hot mess of trouble for the Tracy family.
She may be shocked at first, but I don’t regard Tess as being terribly naive.
Tess and Dick have been together since the beginning of the strip, if not before. I think Tess knows more than enough about Tracy’s appearance and behaviour to see through this scam. At least I hope so.
Awesome. I never thought this is what Notta was going to do until the last two days, but it makes sense. She is much more formidable this way, and the damage she can do to Tracy is much worse than kidnapping a family member or something similar. When it’s all over, she may be able to stay out of trouble by saying, “But I thought he really WAS Tracy.” How will they prove her wrong? Love her tats, too. Putty Puss singing the first line of “Hot Legs,” haha!! Great wit. I’m very impressed.
Notta is so naughty! Which I admit is one of the reasons I’ve always had a soft spot for her. She’s endured a lot of cruel experiences in life, losing her mother at age one, her father dying in prison, having to raise her brothers, seeing one of them shot to death and the other one turned into a zombie, suffering for months at Piggy’s hands, seeing her husband shot to death, going to prison herself. Hard, sad, lonely life. (I reread her story last night, so her trials are all fresh in my mind.) Notta’s a villain, no question, and I hope Tracy’s good name is preserved in the end. But dang it all if if part of me doesn’t root hard for her. I hope when this is all over she’ll stick around in Tracyville so we can watch her continue to evolve. There aren’t many great characters left from the 1960s, and IMHO it would be a shame to send a classic one like Notta away for good. I appreciate this forum to express my opinion.
How far will Notta (and Putty Puss) go in this frame-up video to shame and humiliate and discredit Tracy? Will it be an X-rated porno (in this era of “celebrity sex-tapes” that would not be out of the question)? It’s a good thing, as grumpy Blaze observes, that it is a silent flic-flick….
Nice antiphon NG49. I personally liked the original version you posted and I agree, it could be far more damaging to have Tracy’s character questioned instead of him being attacked.
Putty Puss is singing from the 1959 song “Who’s that knocking” by the Genies. Putty Puss is once again misquoting, where the actual line is, “Who’s that knocking on my door?” But he’s not the first person to make that mistake. Some nobody named Martin Scorsese was directing his first movie and misnamed it after the song, calling his film, Who’s That Knocking at My Door and the rest is misremembered history. Anyway, here’s the song:

I’m sure that at SOME point in his career, someone tried before to blackmail Tracy like this… not to mention how obviously staged everything is…

I think he sings only for his own amusement. Luckily, as Blaze points out, the video she’s shooting is silent (as security cameras normally are).TJ000 over 8 years ago
