In modern model trains you can reload the sound chip so it plays your favorite Beethoven. Mine is the Ninth especially around Christmas and New Years.

This has to be one of the very best early Peanuts strips.

I noticed 3-rail track. When this strip was drawn, Lionel was the most popular 3-rail toy train brand. I wonder if Charles Schulz ever owned Lionel trains.

Linus should be honoring Vince Guaraldi! Although, he was not on the Peanuts scene until the famous TV special.

So just posting Sunday Peanuts was going to catch the strip up to real time, and now it is past Christmas??

I remember as a kid one of my favorite Christmas presents was a ballpoint pen. They were a new invention at the time. This one had a button on the side that retracted the tip. It was amazing.

It would be nice if the GC curators would let us know if this is the end of PB, and if so, if it will restart. Some retired strips reboot from the beginning when they get to the end.

What’s going on here?

There’s over 50 years of Peanuts. Why are we only getting Sundays and why did it stop? I thought that this was supposed to be an every strip ever created rerun.

Has the running of this strip come to an end? Should we delete from our ‘Favorites’? A clue would be appreciated.

Why have we stopped getting updated strips here?

I wonder whether this strip (Peanuts Begins) will resume on about 2019/01/01, starting with the strips from about 1955/01/01. Anyway, all the original strips from 1950 to 2000 are available over on the “Peanuts” section, just mostly not in color.

A week of the same strip is no fun at all. Buh bye.

Peanuts Begins Ends…?

I wonder if this was an issue with their colorist. If they’d lost someone for that role, running the Sundays would be a backstop and if they’d now found someone else they might be holding publishing new ones while reloading the pipeline

why is this not updating? Same cartoon for 5 days

Is it just me; or has this strip repeated since Dec 4, 2018? Is this the end of Peanuts Begins? Or is just isolated to my GoComics account? So many questions; so little time!

The Begins strips started in 2015 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Peanuts (and promote The Peanuts Movie, I expect). So I assumed the run would be temporary, but some kind of notice to that effect would be nice.

Looks like this will go on until Dec.26.

I think we are stuck or are we waiting for the calendar to catch up to post Christmas ?

What is this? The 12 Days of Beethoven Christmas? Please tell me this isn’t going to be the never-changing, ultimate strip forever, like AT THE ZOO (which has had the same strip up for a month now)!

So we’ve come to the end of Peanuts Begins…why not start over again, or lead up to the current Peanuts?

I’m deleting Peanuts Begins from my lineup. Would the last person here please turn off the light? Or if this strip starts up again, post something in the “regular” Peanuts comments so we’ll know to come back.

Have we run out of early Peanuts comics, or are we just on Christmas break?

This is the note I sent GCPeanuts Begins: Could you please post an update if the strip is done running? Or if it intends to reboot, ala Little Dog Lost or Spot? Just telling folks who have inquired “it is an archive and the missing strips may not be there” does not tell folks what we need to know to move on. In this case we obviously know there are more strips, they are on the other site. There are characters and set ups that haven’t been introduced yet, so we are not through “beginning.” Most of us are on PB for the chronological study of how the strip evolved daily as it did in RL. However, even explaining it is over, and we need to port over to the regular site now to manually catch up would be helpful. Bueller? Anyone there?

And with his last “Peanuts” comic strip published on Sunday, December 26, 1954, cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, lamenting that he had run out of comic gags, put away his pens and drawing table forever and instead became a local barber like his father before him. Schulz would occasionally draw funny characters for his youngest customers, but never regretted retiring from cartooning.

“Peanuts”, having only run nationally in newspaper comic pages for four years, was soon forgotten. Its space on the page was taken by the hilarious adventures of “Henry”.

I have came here lately just for the recent comments, but they seem to be drying up…

I, too, e-mailed GoComics about the lack of updates here, and on one other comic, and received this response:

It is unknown to this account support desk, if and or when, either of those features will update or resume.

So, looks like we’ll still be waiting.

Yep, this comic strip is broken. For some reason this comment is deleted everyday for about a week.

Rebooted from the beginning. apparently they either were uploading new strips, just not switching them on, or they just bulk uploaded the last two weeks. They restarted from the beginning on the 5th.
