I wonder if this is going to lead into Gunther quitting the dress project. We already saw that he thinks his classmates will think he is “weird” for making a dress. Now Quill has put the idea in Gunther’s head that Luann manipulated him into making the bridesmaid dress. And Gunther’s last dialogue balloon today sure looks sour.

From the “Wrench in the Machine” department:.If Rosa shows up with a little curly – haired one in tow, he can leave the sewing machine out for making toddler clothes.

While Gunther sews, Greg continues to weave his wedding fabric that will eventually involve everyone. Rosa? Greg’s most attractive character? Who knows, but at this stage I’d rather see Tiff and the G-man really become an item.

Quill character ain’t over yet in this strip. Hopefully Greg is only keeping him around if he can’t find someone better. And I hope he does. Speaking of couples Gunther and Tiffany are perfect for each other. They could be an unending source of comic material if they ever hooked up and married. Enough even for their own strip.

Re the Gunther/Tiffany hookup. Sort of a 21st century version of George Burns and Gracie Allen. It would be hilarious!

Has Mrs. Berger ever acquired a first name? She is such an eminently likeable character: not pushy, supportive, constructive, takes most people as they are, and has that bit of humor in her. Translated into real people the characterists she shows shine.

Blue is all wrong for Luann’s complexion. She should have gone with a warmer jewel tone like burgundy or amethyst.

Why is Gunther doing engineering anyway? He has a real talent for fashion, as Luann knows (even though you wouldn’t guess it from the way he dresses).

Yes! I’m glad to see Quill is back.

Not only is Quill still around, but pay special attention to the context of his appearance: he’s NOT just a side issue for Luann’s character to play off of here, but still a character in his own right.

6Interesting interplay between Mrs. Berger, Quill, and Gunther today. Here are my thoughts, and my hopes, and my concerns:1. I found Quill to be enjoyable and interesting as a character today. 2. I HOPE that Quill DOES NOT re-hook-up with Luann in any sort of “relationship” way. I think it is much more interesting for Luann’s character to be free of Quill…. and with today’s effort, I also feel that it could be much more possible for Quill to be an interesting character in the comic…. because even in this one “non-Luann” instance, he is already to me, more likable and interesting than during his “bland” period as Luann’s romantic interest.3. I like how Mrs. Berger is teasing Quill with her statement in much the same fashion as Quill is teasing Gunther.4. It is interesting, however to note how Gunther is more aggravated by the teasing than is Quill about the teasing he is receiving.5. I think it is UNLIKELY but I do think there is a small chance that Gunther may get into another of his “angry outburst” moments if he continues to get teased about this issue, to which he is apparently very sensitive to.6. The “laughing” expression by Quill, to me is noteworthy because I think this is the most facially expressive happy drawing Greg has done of Quill…. at least as far as I can recall. Most of his other facial expressions were rather bland and he seemed somewhat too reserved in his emotions. Today, in the second panel, the Quills eyes are IMO especially expressive.

Did Lu get Toni’s ok before going ahead and getting the fabric? TJ said the colors were going to be teal & gold.*So glad Qu is still atop the volcano. He & Lu made such a pretty pair. With couples counseling perhaps they can overcome their differences (like a Hollywood couple we know & care about).

Love that Quill is back, but how will he work an invite to the wedding?

Wonder why the Evanses created this unflattering snapshot of Quill? Luann is hardly the mojo worker kind of person. I never disliked Quill,but I didn’t think he was a good fit for Luann’s needs in a relationship. She was astute enough to recognize this.

Assuming that men who sew and are not athletic are gay is as downright silly as assuming that any male body builders or other male athletes are straight. Just stereotyping, so instead go by where the people’s attractions and loves rest.

Ah Quill looks like he is pissing off (I hope that passes the moderator -:) Gunther, with his apparent jibe about the bridal gown. Also Gunther’s mom made kind a snide remark in response to Quill’s assertion that Luann worked her mojo on Quill. There are a lot of nuances to this, but I will comment on the one in gross, which is that Quill is back, but his charm might be a bit getting thin, at least with Gunther aliunde Luann, and possibly with mom. Time will tell.

TROLL ALERT. It has been established MANY MANY TIMES that Gunther is NOT GAY in this strip. This is not the first time you have posted this.

Here is a book he had published:..As far as his relationships go: Grier has a daughter from a previous relationship named Sherryl Brown-Tubbs. He later married Bernice Lewis, who had one child, Denise, whom he adopted before getting divorced. He then married Margie Grier and had a son, Roosevelt Kennedy Grier, in 1972. Quill! I remember him. He used to be in this comic strip all the time, but he was afraid to have sex with Luann or he started hanging around lesbian actresses. It was something like that.

The NKOTB should go back to the later 1990’s and how it looked like something but later we find out that Gunther missed his chance by communicating with Luann, he failed to do that so that ship has sailed. But then I read it when they were originally published.-New Kids On The Block

I like Quill as a friend for Gunther. High school sweethearts break up, but friendships go on. Doesn’t mean that Quill is right, just closest thing to a sibling Gunther has. The ‘family banter’ and teasing is good for him.

I don’t like the angry Gunther. That needs to be dealt with. A person can be hurt, offended, upset, aggravated… without the kind of anger Gunther is displaying. It makes me think he has an abusive personality.
