I think Nancy walked into her own trap when Frank said the acronym.

I’m still surprised than Nancy is worried about this stuff. She’s still a hottie…

They don’t need to distinguish themselves from another set of grandparents, since Toni’s parents are no longer with us. So just their preferred version of “grandmother” or “granddad” will do. BTW my own mother went by a lovely term from her native tongue, getting around that whole “grandma makes me sound so old” bit quite nicely. (She used “Moeke”, which means “Mom” and which her most of her children-in-law were already using for her.)

Well, looks like Frank isn’t even going to get a little ‘kissy’ tonight. And, whatever else you had planned, that got shot down. Frankly, Frank, I think your frank just got put on hiatus…

Oh, for pity’s sake. Why is it that women (and yes I realize that sounds sexist) are always talking about their married kids giving them grandchildren? But then they balk at being called a grandmother? Sory ladies, but the two go hand in hand.

You don’t get to choose what you’re called anyway. The grandkids call you what they want. My sister’s kids called my father “Pop-pop”.

I thought it would bother me to be called “Grandma” when I had my first grandchild at 49, but….not only did it NOT bother me, I felt very, very proud. Not all of us will ever have this blessing….I now have 4 grandchildren and more on the way and I’m not even 60. I think being a young grandma is hip and cool.

Don’t know if IamJayBluE will be here, or if he’s taking another day off, so I’ll offer the following in a pinch-hit role:

    “H.A.G.G.is Baggis”

    “What’s In A Name”

    “I Got A Name…I Got A Name” (♪♫)

    “Grandfather Clause”

    “The Grand Scheme Of Things”

    “Gramma Phone”

    “Gram Crackers”

    “The Grand Allusion”

    “Ain’t Wife Grand?”

There are more Brad and Toni strip compilation albums up in

    .

    http://www.luannfan.com/collections/

12: arch to start, joy of responsibility, king and fine dining, fun foods, memory loss, crack, head, jaw

    .

13: French-Italian, Grandma smells, rushing risotto, mealing and dealing, watch the candle

    .

14: Toni vomit, guts and eyeballs, a hit, a smash, good in green, old face in contest winning results(?), making santa happy, 2 arches and real restaurant (fun historical explanation very recently encountered: “restaurant” from “restorative” for places that sold soups to help those w breathing problems)

At her insistence, my mother is “grams,” my dad was “gram’s daddy,” until we adult children pointed out what it sounded like, so they went with “gramdaddy.” I have no kids, so my nieces and nephews chose “Auntie K.”

I’ve never forgotten what a big deal it was (to me) to call my parents’ friends by their first names when I was as young as 7 or 8, so either “Grandpa” or “Bruce” are equally cool with me as long as they know I love ’em no matter which name they use.

When he takes his glasses off, one can see the resemblance between Frank and his soon-to-be-married son.

Meanwhile, Nancy, let the future take care of itself. For now, you are still definitely a Hot Momma (there’s another term for that not suited to this family-friendly forum)!
