Yea Mysta! She’s loving her new powers! I doubt it will take long for Tracy and Sam to figure out Mysta didn’t kill the congresswoman. Will she assist them in the manhunt?
I’ve noticed that every time the moon stuff is featured, and especially when Mysta shows up, the excitement level for many around here starts building. Not with everyone, but noticeably overall. I feel it myself. I’ve always enjoyed the sci-fi side of Dic Tracy, but the changes going on with Mysta are just cool. Literally cool, lol! I still remember that first story she was in a few years ago and what a frenzy it stirred up. The Blackhearts story did, too, to an extent. I just hope this time all of it gets pushed to the top, and we find out what’s going on with the Moon people and all that!
As others have noted, it is wonderful to see that Mysta Chimera is still changing. Mysta Tracy’s Lunarian DNA is having its way on the Chimera. Introduced in the winter of 1964, earthlings were startled to find she was impervious to the cold. In fact, she preferred it. Wonderful art. There’s more at work here than the fact that Tracy has questions for our innocent Mysta. The Gouldian snow flakes are a nice touch!
I find their astonishment understandable, Av. I take a glance around here (my house), and then at that eye candy in the bunny suit, and it is no mystery at all!
I was reminded of a quote in Steve Lopez’s column on page B5 of Sunday’s (10-16-2016) Los Angeles Times. He wrote, “I’m reminded of my one and only conversation with the late great Chicago columnist Mike Royko, a gruff gent with a good jab and a better roundhouse. He called me ‘kid,’ and had but a single piece of advice, which he offered in a low growl: Don’t write so often, he said, that the quality of your work suffers. Is anyone in Chicago paying attention?”
It’s funny, I still see the occasional aside about the issues we’ve been experiencing with the ‘new-and-improved’ comment system, usually buried within comments about other things.

Mysta’s transformation continues! She’s now enjoying the cold, just like the original Moon Maid (and all lunar people)….

I guess if she arrived angry, she just wanted to cool off.
Considering it’s to be around 80 here in late October, I’d say she’s closer to normal than the weather is.
willy007 about 8 years ago
Can’t post these directly anymore, but here at least is a link to scenes of the original Mysta enjoying the cold (from January 1964).

Wasn’t Moon Maid (and the rest of the Lunarians) more able to adjust to a wide range of climate?

Mysta’s wide stance hearkens back to the Moon Maid of old, too.

Perhaps the change will include her hair going from blonde to pure white – like with the original Moon Maid.

I’ve heard of “cooling off” after an argument, but I’ve never seen this before.

I’m sure Tracy and Sam will immediately get the connection with the original Moon Maid. I wonder if Honeymoon has experienced the room yet…

Some on this site should also pay attention.

What a chilling sight!
Mysta Chimera is certainly one cold chick!
I guess Tracy should keep his Famous Yellow Trenchcoat on; Sam, his coat, too.
I shudder to think what’s next!
(Sorry, guys. The stress of being here so late makes me giddy, and my comments , silly.)

Earlier today, I’d composed a lengthy piece about “Sliding Timescales” and posted it over on the Luann forum, for some inexplicable reason.

Pretty sure I’d posted a similar piece here, quite awhile ago.

Does Mysta ever wear anything other than her “Cabaret” outfit?
