It’s like herding firefighters.

How come their Chief is clean?

Saturdays are odd days in the daily comic strip format – Traditionally, it’s not guaranteed that someone who reads the strip in newspapers will have access to Saturday’s edition – So that particular day is often treated as ‘disposable’ in terms of ongoing storyline.

That said, this is excellent use of today’s visual real estate. :)

By the way before I do a bigger comment notice who is surrounding Brad and Toni? Those who really love them, the DeGroots, TJ and Shannon. No Jonah in particular. Why is he not surrounding his sister, while his daughter is holding her hand? I think that means something for now, and for the future.

It looks like someone is still sitting in that piece of equipment.. I wonder who it might be?

Oh I forgot the fire crew as well. People who love them, and clearly knew what was going on given the high five between TJ and one of fire crew members. The Captain looks like a proud papa, or at least a proud older brother. They did their duty, now they are back in time to get hitched. SNIFF so romantic.

Well, just a while ago, they were using hoses to put things out… now, they’re about to get hosed… as soon as they find the bucket and the spigot in the back of the building…

It also just goes to show… no matter what rank they are, all their rank is soon going to be collectively busted….

I believe this is the first time Greg did a strip with no dialogue.

What a relief to see that the firefighters – especially the bride and groom – made it to the wedding without further incident! Now, let the ceremony and festivities begin!

Waiting for the local News Station Reporters, and Photographers called by T.J. to cover the story of the local couple arriving back from successfully fighting a forest fire together, to get married.Where are the reporters and that live News feed?

Wedding? Meh, I prefer field trips.

Did the rest of the crew already change out of their gear? Why are Brad and Toni the only ones still in the inside parts of their uniforms?

Jonah is in the back office with the priest, studying him, hoping to get the role of 2nd understudy to the actor playing Father O’Malley, in the off off off-Broadway remake of The Bells of St Marys

Seems as if Nancy really has bonded with her soon-to-be daughter-in-law

So the only ones that are missing is Jonah,Toni’s Aunt and Uncle and the rest of Luann’s friends. I’m sure their are more people coming who knows Dirk might show up.

TJ really is ‘channeling’ Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, jr. Someday, I think he should have a year to tell his whole story.

Are they getting married in their dirty fire fighting clothes? What happened to the wedding dress? Do they get to go home and clean up? I am not following this, after all the hoopla over designing Toni’s wedding dress.

Is it going to turn out that they never got around to getting their marriage license because of having to go fight a fire?

How is this going to stretch out until next Sunday??

We need all of those 8 panels to come. Peering into my crystal ball I foresee:

1) Luann hits it off with cute Hispanic firefighter.2) Shannon stuffs her flowers in her Hello Kitty backpack, mangling all of them3) George Jetson chugs an entire bottle of champagne, to fire up the ol’ humor engine.4) Ms. 4-2 has a melt-down, because the wedding ring is momentarily misplaced.

The firefighters seem pretty happy to see TJ. I’m sure they still remember how he cooked delicious food for them that they agreed to pay for.

For some reason, you made me cry this morning. Love it.

Does that one guy walk around with his mouth open all the time?

The Captain is in his clean & pressed uniform, the other fire fighters seem to be in clean casual clothes but Toni & Brad are still in the grubby clothes! How did everyone else get cleaned up?

At this rate, eight hundred bucks says I’ll have kids before they do.

And how did the captain and two of the firefighters keep so clean? I was looking forward to seeing them all fight for shower rights. (though not showering itself)

Mouths. Notice in both yesterday’s and today’s strips, TJ & Emily have mouths that are almost exactly the same (last panel yesterday was priceless). Suppose those mouths will ever meet?

I actually had a wedding “Marshall” like this one. Her way or the highway.

Time is money!

Whew! They made it just in time or the planner would have canceled everything. Toni looks beautiful even all covered in soot.

The reason T & B aren’t cleaned up is because not only were they sleeping earlier when everyone else changed their clothes, but their clothing is is at the venue so it makes sense they can do all their cleaning up there.

Love these panoramas. Love to see the wedding planner hit on the captain.

The ladies and girls of the strip tend to the bride; Frank alone accompanies his son. The Captain and the crew are directed by TJ and the Cottage 4 2 Lady; one Silhouette Person remains asleep in the grime-and-smoke stained engine.

Greg has done dialogue-less strips before. For example, the strip at http://www.gocomics.com/luann/2016/09/02 just about three months ago had no dialogue (although it turned out to be just a product of the characters’ imaginations the next day). Too bad; Brad and Toni both looked very happy there.

I suggested a while back that Toni should tell Jonah, “Hey, I got you an audition. It’s going to be on Dec. 11 at Cottage 4-2. You’re up for the role of Wedding Guest, so make sure to dress well. And make sure to bring Shannon too, because they’re also casting the role of Flower Girl. No, I can’t babysit her that day, nor can Brad.”
