Seems like running out is a feature of Toni’s family. Could that have rubbed off on Jonah? A fear of commitment, always running away from things? Toni is running toward something though: the love and security of Brad for her.

A shame Delta didn’t come back to town for the wedding. It’s been too long since she’s been seen in the strip. Still, she is Luann’s friend rather than Brad’s, so that’s probably why.

With your comment being first today, I am just curious about why it seems people are so into debating the “brattiness” or lack thereof of Shannon when she is not in the comic today? But, that said, here is my opinion:

    .

I think some folks see the word “brat” differently. For some (perhaps you, jackreacher) think of “brat” as being a VERY strong, very vehement slur of sorts at anyone being called that name. While others, I believe, think of “brat” in a more mild sense and it is not nearly so needing defending against as it seems others feel.

    .

I guess I fall into the camp where “brat” to me is just a mild term…. and is suggestive of a kid (or adult for that matter) who is purposefully or inadvertently being a little annoying. To me, the use of the term “brat” seems to be no big deal.

    .

In the manner of how I personally define the word, I would say that some of Shannon’s behaviors over time have been “bratty”… but hell, I would say that is normal and occurs occasionally for just about all kids who are Shannon’s age. I think (especially during the last 1-2 years) Shannon’s behaviors have been perfectly normal and within the realm of what you can expect and accept from young children.

    .

We get to meet the aunt. She is strangely interesting. I tend to think more of her personality rubbed off on Jonah, than Toni (thankfully for Toni).

    .

Unfortunately for me, today’s comic rings TOO true…. it is a damn near perfect mimic of every wedding reception I have been too over the years. It is kind of dull, a little uncomfortable, and kind of long, and filled with a lot of idle chit-chat. My wife also, (unfortunately for me) likes to stay at wedding receptions FAR longer than would be my preference. I would usually wish to leave and go home within an hour or two, but she usually likes to stay until the very end. The compromise that we have evolved into through the years is that she is automatically the “designated driver” for wedding receptions, gets to stay as late as she wants, and I sit around but get to enjoy a few more “adult beverages” than is my custom for other venues. As I am not a “rowdy” person by nature, I just become quietly “fuzzy headed”. :)

Another dress comment: I’m always the type for a veil, even if it’s shorter and only on the back of the bride’s head. But after seeing the ribbons for a while, I’ve grown to think it is very appropriate for Toni. Gives the flow and decorative extra of a veil, without being a veil, and adds color. Very clever designer!

You fill the footballs in a room at normal temperature – let us say 72 degrees F. You take them outside to very cold weather and the air will actually contract making it appear as if the footballs were under inflated. I do not like the Patriots organization at all, but has anyone ever thought of this scientific fact?

    .

It was discussed quite a bit.

Using the ideal gas law and absolute temperatures and pressures,

The change in gauge pressure from 12.5 psi and 72 degrees Fahrenheit should be figured using:

    Pressure gauge = (459/(459 + 72) ) x (12.5 + 14.7) – 14.7

    or

Pressure = 8.8 psig as best I can figure.

Don’t actually know the playing temp, less drop would yield higher pressure
