California weather for you. If this was a different, colder state, Leslie might not like being outside so much.

I guess the belly flop on this arc is permanent too.

Regarding yesterday’s incident of Les taking money from Ann, it wasn’t until later comments that I realized that Ann was bribing him to call her “mom.” If that is what she was doing AND Les knew that was what she was doing, a “reformed” Les should have just refused to take the money. // Also unanswered is, is Les “double dipping,” being paid by Fuse AND his mom?

Wait till he finds out Ann expects the money back as part of the court payment.

If it’s that easy to make money, I’ll have to get into lingerie. Wait, what I meant was that if I can make money by getting into— You know what, never mind.

This is a litmus test for trust in Les. Did anything happen on his watch? His candid conversation with Pru shows he considers her a friend, and he didn’t go for sympathy, he moved forward.

Thus ends a lingerie party that has been building suspense for weeks. I expected the story line to pop, but it just fizzled out.

What a rip. A total disappointment.

This arc taught me not to trust Greg’s plot build up again in the future. A huge fizzle.

No detente reached between Leslie and mommie, either…

Several of you guys are way too impatient for excitement.

On one hand, I, too, was anticipating something sensational, like Les blowing the whistle on some kind of illegal activity.

But on the other, this arc is not over. It’s clearly open-ended at this point. And I can’t blame the Evanses for not bringing every arc to its ultimate conclusion in one week. There will be more intrigue over this in the future. And we may flip over to other arcs in the meantime. I do like continuing entertainment.

I don’t have much to say. can’t wait for Sunday to see puddles. (yawn)

WizardGoat and others: Until yesterday, I didn’t know what a McGuffin was. I now realize that it’s made up of two parts: Meh and Guffin. Take away the Guffin and what is left?

For all those who expected something spectacular to happen, I also thought the party would end with a blow up of some sort. But look at it this way, all the players involved in this aren’t aware of each other yet. Ann does not know of TJ’s involvement at Fuse. TJ is not aware of Ann’s relationship with Mr Grey or Les. It would seem foolish if Ann were planning something truly criminal to do something in an unfamiliar location. Maybe this is scoping out how things work for future events? Or this could just be away to bring Ann back into the story to tie all the Arcs together with Tiffany’s Daddy’s issues.

Durst hope that some of the chronic whiners/complainers will be so exponentially annoyed that they’ll go find a comic strip that they like better and spare those who like this (as is) their histrionic agonies?

Les’s comment, “Guess she sold lots of lingerie” is probably a literary device to hint that other things transpired. We’ll have to wait a while to find out.

Just like the Valentine’s Day with Luann and Quill—this has gone on too long with too little.

Les said Ann to Pru.

Other than the Les / Ann interaction, this is the only advancement in character information for the entire arc.

And we are to assume nobody talks to anybody. Ann does not know TJ is K2, TJ does not know Eiffel is Les’s mom, nobody outside of the dorm, other than Gunther, knows about Tiffany’s weight gain, and absolutely nothing the readers want to see completely resolved is completely resolved.

The flag has been dropped:

Yeah tomorrow night we get Shannon, Puddles, Luann’s messy room, etc. Sunday night I can only hope there is another surprise from Ann Eiffel, or else a good arc with Tif & Gunther, or Tara & Luann.

There are dishes on the table. Who provided and served the food and drink if Les was the only Fuse employee (and he was kept outside the hall) and Ann did not seem to bring a catering crew with her?

This story didn’t have any bombshells, for sure, but the point seemed to be just that Les has found a surrogate family at the Fuze, while accepting the serious limitations of his egg donor mom.

Meanwhile, poor Gunth and Tiff have been sitting together an awful long time without a bathroom break. You think about those things at my age.

What arc do I want next? A Shannon arc. Why? Because I like them, they are entertaining to me. And the BIG BONUS? I get to watch some heads explode, hear some gnashing of teeth. Schadenfreude!

Wait, lots of cash, had Les “watch the door.” Hmm. Illegal gambling? They seemed in a good mood though. Texas Hold’em? Illegal in some states unless you are non-profit or licensed.

You are not really sure she is selling lingerie. She is doing something else behind the closed door.

Could still be a plot as some have intimated. Ann goes legit the first time to lower everyone’s guard, then the hammer of serious deception comes smashing down!

Again, way too easy.

It may also be that the Evanses realized every non-lingerie-party plot development was 1) R-rated or 2) Too complicated or 3) Inconsistent with what we know of Les and Ann or 4) Too depressing.So they were stuck with what you see is what you get, not a bad plan. Of course, I hope for a secret mind-blowing plot blast.

I still think Greg intends this as a multiple arc buildup to a revel of something not above-board with Ann’s events. Why should he resolve it in one, when he can get more strips out of the idea?

This is SO not the end of this story…

I was thinking this could have been coming to a Halloween-type theme. After all, lingerie could be considered a form of ‘being in costume’. Now – it might be that this could be a holiday/end-of-year crescendo to this arc, with more yet to come?…

Meanwhile back at…. Darn I forgot what else was going on!

Dang. I’m disappointed and bored with this arc!

Ann did not come back to Pitts just to try to settle Leslie’s Mommy Issues. And the Lingerie Party, or whatever it really was, has just been a middle-plot placeholder, giving her time to set up an Awful scene and the ensuing conflict resolution…. Maybe.

tomorrow: Brad helps Shannon with a school project.

It hurts my head keeping up with so many unresolved plots. So, this lingerie party was in the planning for the entire summer it seems. Originally, it seemed far more imminent. The clientele looked satisfied after the party, and calm, so I doubt shenanigans went on. If male strippers or some other entertainment happened, the ladies would be leaving in a more lively fashion, I’d think. If the party was a scheme, it’ll be the take the money and run type.

I suppose it’s possible that Ann could be using Les as a pawn while she does some underhanded thing that he doesn’t know about. Leslie isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I’m pretty sure she wasn’t really “selling lingerie”.
