The jury is out on whether AE ruined Tiffany’s life by stealing Tiff’s Dad. I believe at least some of us think the disconnect may be good for Tiffany.
Tiffany had a plan for Ann when she left Bernice’s dorm room…and her plan got better when she got to The Fuse and talked to Les. For the yessayers, I don’t think they will become an item or become step siblings at all. They become allies in their same interests and one goal – take down Ann Eiffel. Wonder if we will ever meet Mr Farrel?
Since Les is becoming honest and caring, and more the hero every day, it’s difficult to see how he and Tiff will not end up together. I predict that they will. Maybe even the strip’s next wedding.
You Know, I wonder what happened to the Ex-Mrs Ferrell, Tiffany’s Mom?
Tiff Never mentions Her, and apparently NEVER visits Her. Odd, IMHO.
Anyway, there seems to be little doubt that Tiff and Lester won’t come together to break up Les’ Mom and Tiff’s dad. I highly doubt that THIS was Tiff’s Original “plan” when She first went to the Fuse. So She’s improvising. But remember: Tiffany’s “plans” in the Past, have NEVER worked. Neither apparently does Les’ as He seems to keep getting caught.
Let’s see, she became a recluse who eats out of nothing but cardboard boxes. All she has to do is take in 50 cats and her destruction will be complete.
No one ‘gives’ a person depression; depression is a person’s biochemical reaction to their own circumstances. (Actual brain chemistry changes happen during genuine clinical depression.) Gaining or losing weight, sleeping all time or being unable to sleep are all indicators of the fact that a person is in a depressive state, but genuine depression is something that happens in the brain. And usually also leads to exaggerated emotional states, like crying jags, extreme anger, and also, in some cases, to suicidal impulses.
I have been yelling that this is a parents alienation from and affect on Les and Ann arc, and not weight gain, or whether Les is drooling over a slim Tiffany. Ann is a narcissistic grifter and opportunist who is complicit in Les’s quasi-criminal tendencies, while Mr. Farrell buys his daughter stuff, but does not ground her as a person who can be happy and secure in herself, and clearly the two kids will respond in hopefully a joint way to deal with their parental issues. Outcome to be seen, but that should be fun. I also say that the different themes that intersect with this arc will all merge together. How that turns out remains to be seen. I predict the next arc, which might be several weeks away will deal with Jonah, Shannon, and Toni’s possible pregnancy. 1/24/18. Feel free to remind me down the road. Get off the weight stuff PLEASE.
Les seems to have figured Ann out pretty well. His affection (or maybe lust, as some will insist) for Tiff will at least make him a willing accomplice in her plan to bring Ann down. Somehow, I do feel like rooting for this “team”!
Tiff needs to tell Les that his mother is illegally selling phony merchandise. He presumably does not know that yet.
They could manage to record her in the act of promoting and selling it, and then get her busted. I think that Les has lost his loyalty to Ann, and would be happy to see the authorities shut her down.
Les is getting extra hours and making cash from Ann’s lingerie scam. Assuming Tiff is really planning to expose the scam (after all she wasn’t scammed personally) maybe the Les/Tiff alliance will be short lived. Pity. Oddly enough they make a lovely couple.
Les is getting extra hours and making cash from Ann’s lingerie scam. Assuming Tiff is really planning to expose the scam (after all she wasn’t scammed personally) maybe the Les/Tiff alliance will be short lived. Pity. Oddly enough they make a lovely couple.

This is getting more and more fascinating in each strip. Is Les going to help Tiffany bring down his mom? I would love to see ALL the people that have a score to settle with Ann, come together to bring her down. This is going to be good!! Greg, you have our full attention….please don’t drag this out 6 months…sic her. LOL!
Except Tiffany stated the problem as her Dad just having a woman in his life at all besides her, not that Ann had done anything specifically horrible to her
And, let the games begin! I have to have hope that this alliance between Tiff and Les (temporary as it may be – and I concur it will be…) will prove successful in bringing down Ann, yet again. I also have faith that Tiff can square things with her father, as well. The only questions remaining are what it will mean to Les and his “relationships” with Ann and Al Gray. Hopefully, it will earn him some Brownie points with Al, whom I think is much better positioned to help Les than his Mother.
I also give kudos to Tiff for now recognizing her current state and, hopefully, it will inspire her to get back into full running strength, quickly.
I should’ve seen Tiffany and Les bonding against Ann. They both see her as an scheming money hungry-wait-isn’t that how Tiffany was before her emotional upset of the summer caused her weight gain, and, change in attitude?
Eiffel is a survivor. My prediction is that, after being confronted, she will take her ill-gotten gains and escape back to the orient (or where ever she was sent after the TJ comedown). She will be planning her comeback at some point whenever Team Evans needs her. Just like this time.
I’m surprised Les hasn’t started calling Ann his “egg donor”. People over at Etiquette Hell use “egg donor” or “sperm donor” sometimes when referring to negligent or abusive parents.
I know Moordock will hate this idea, but Greg and Karen bring Rosa back please!! Then Les and Tiffany can grow together in a wonderful relationship, accentuating their good qualities, while running away from their bad ones, and Gunther can fall in love with, and have a relationship with Rosa. Bring her back!!!
I notice that ‘sucks’ was abbreviated to ‘sux’ – and I wonder if that was to try and slip one through any of the comic censors out there. Sometimes, in some regions, some of the Luann strips get ‘replaced’ with an older strip – like a couple of the B&T strips, etc. Greg has said he has had to watch the dialogue for that reason (i.e.: some folks don’t like the ‘OMIGOD’, so it changes to ‘OMIGAW’, and such).
Speaking OF dialogue, I really enjoy the content in today’s installment. Each word has a purpose to it.
At some point, sooner or later, Team Evans will have to begin pairing up characters; much like Brad & Toni, Knute & Crystal, even Frank & Nancy DeGroot. Else they’ll have a strip filled with ageing spinsters. And remember, these pairings will have to be fodder for future strips. There are some thoughts"Bernice & Piro. This seems to have clicked in the past. The flamboyant Piro matched with the stodgy Bernice is rich fodder for creative juices. Nils has also expressed an interest in Berny. His off-the-wall rebelliousness vs. Bernice’s follow the rules rigidity would keep things lively. She was jealous of Luann’s interest in her long-lost brother; the soldier. Naw. TOO controversial. Syndicate would never put up with it.Tiffany and Gunther. There are sparks there. Both have developed in character through their association with one another. They are sufficiently different though to be the source of many ‘toon arcs. A shy, middle-class, nerdy Gunther matched up with a flashy, rich, blond bombshell. They each need something the other has to be complete. Tiffany with anybody else available at this time seems like a toxic relationship. That leaves Luann. Hmmmm. THE eponymous character of the strip without any real prospects. Each of her heartthrobs haven’t panned out. Aaron Hill seems loooong out of the picture. I suppose there could be a reconciliation with the OZ-man; but what a dull relationship that would be. Based mostly on moony-ness. We already have “Bwad” and Toni as the moonstruck/sexy innuendo couple in the strip. Don’t need two. A Luann/Gunther hookup would be another Frank & Nancy – meh. Who’s left… Bernice’s long-lost bro? One of her art classmates? Elwood!?!? No. The Evans team will have to come up with another character for Luann. Any suggestions?
I don’t think that depression is something that just pops up suddenly, Tiffany was already carrying an anxiety attitude that just needed a trigger to set her off. That trigger was back when Piro rejected her advances during the Bernice – Gunther conflict. Now, Tiff wants to get herself together again and her father is just an excuse to catapult her back into action.
I don’t like Ann Eiffel, though a physically attractive woman she has, in the strips past, proven to be petty, petulant, overbearing, lecherous and detestable. But I have yet to see where she is actually evil. As Bernice’s and later Brad and TJ’s boss, she was the perfect example of the middle management type that usually run small franchises, drunk with the tiny bit of power they have and looking to crush whoever they can with it. Obviously she cared more for herself then her child and thus Leslie grew up unsupervised, which explains some of his failings. But Les and Tiffany need to take responsibility for much of their problems. Ann did not put a gun to Tiffany’s head and tell her to skip classes and over eat junk food. And it wasn’t Ann who turned Les into a bully, a liar, a thief and a jerk. Though in hindsight I do now see why he was so attracted to Pru who showed him a little kindness. He is starving for female attention and affection.
Good grief! What is happening here? Leslie Knox seems almost human today! If he and Tiffany work in concert, Ann Eiffel will go down to an ignominious defeat….
This is not going the way I expected. Tiffany and Les are connecting. But Les cashes in on these lingerie parties and when he finds that this is Tiff’s target he may be a less supportive.
I was mistaken and I don’t know if I was called to task for it. TIffany did not mention that “her” father ruined “her” life, she merely responded to Les’s question that Ann, his mom ruined her by saying “isn’t it obvious”? That can be a comment to the weight gain, and the way she is dressed. That does change my observation, admitting that yes maybe she is concerned about her change in appearance, but it still does not change this being a parent’s issue arc at base. It might not be as big as I was suggesting though, or it may be. I admit I was wrong though.
Les Knox confesses that He Thought What His Mom was Doing was a SCAM, but didn’t bother to notify the Authorities AND happy took part of the “Take” involving Himself in the Crime!
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Tiffany touches the “icky fly” in Panel three, and winds up losing an Arm due to MASSIVE Infections!
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Upon Hearing Tiff vow not to let Her Dad marry Les’ Mom and thereby making Les and Tiff Step Siblings, Les immediately nthinks that Tiff is doing THAT so They can be together, “because she’s so IN to me.”Things go awry after Tiff’s Arm rots off and falls to the ground.
