Well of course one can not get comfortable when it’s an intruder under the fuzzy blanket, poor Puck ;). I also see the intruder has furrowed brows from the traditional cat greetings
I love the ever-so-gentle, passive-aggressive tail-slapping. (Also, the intruder must be especially disconcerting because she looks like The Woman, but is most emphatically NOT THE WOMAN!)
I love the ever-so-gentle, passive-aggressive tail-slapping. (Also, the intruder must be especially disconcerting because she looks like The Woman, but is most emphatically NOT THE WOMAN!)
Lupin has on his Indiana Jones hat! That’s the signal it’s adventure time! Uh oh, the Intruder better stop moving her feet—Elvis is not amused! lol The last panel is the very picture of antipathy. Ha!
My cat tries to knead me into a preferred shape when she comes to snuggle, or dig herself an appropriately sized cat hole in the blankets. If I am sleeping over at my daughter’s house, her female Puck-coloured cat comes to check me out and step on my hair, while her male (also Puck-coloured) cat stays away, usually watching me balefully from the hallway.
So much to love today! The Intruder’s irritated eyebrows in the first panel, Elvis pouncing on her feet (and being personally insulted by her moving feet), Puck’s tail slapping, and Elvis in the Intruder’s face in the last panel! Sending warm orb hugs, bumps and boops to everybody, most especially Font Lady in her time of trial!
Good late morning orbsters & revered Orb Leader, Georgia! Font Lady, we’re keeping you in our thoughts & prayers. You may not be reading BCN yet or not wishing to respond. We understand and respect whatever you need to do to cope. We’re here, & we got you! ((((((Font Lady & her orb)))))) >^.,.^<
I have two small-breed dogs, Pekingese-Shihtzu and Bichon-Shihtzu mixes, and they both like to lie on my back or on my hip whenever I try to nap on the sofa. I call them my little hot water bottles.
I’ve had this sofa for about a year. I got my first dog 1.5 years ago and have had the other for about five months, and I haven’t had a nap since!
Reminds me of the times I visited my aunt and uncle, and slept in their basement on what must have been their cat’s favorite bed. That cat was at least half Manx and could jump over the card table I put across the door. The foot attacks were part of the action. Waking up to a fuzzy face next to mine and fishy cat food breath was another treat.
This late update happens every once in a while. It must be some technical thing. Eventually they fix it. I think normal post time is about midnight to 1 am Eastern time in North America. I usually read it about 4 to 5 am central time and the first comments are usually 5 to 6 hours old. Last time this happened they posted about 9 hours late.
I’m starting to think that we need to establish a BCN Anonymous group… For all us BCN-aholics who get super stressed out when these occasional late updates happen. Reading the new strip is always the first thing I do in the morning (usually before I have even gotten out of bed) and I feel like my day can’t properly get going until I see what adventures our beloved kitty reporters are up to. sigh
apparently January 25 has been cancelled due to lack of interest.not the January 25th BCN, mind you, there is plenty of interest in that. but the entire day was cancelled anyway.I wish I knew this before I went to work.with no updated comics to read, why am I even here?
Miss Furbie (see left) meowed me awake a bit before 6 am, so here am I, teeth brushed, pills taken and coffee at the ready and WHAT??? Well, I guess my birthday is over! I turned 73 yesterday, and celebrated by making my 2 day oxtail soup. (It takes about 8 hours to cook, so I stop midway to cool things down and get out most of the fat and finish up today, with another four hours, the last 2 with the veggies and herbs and spices. This is a new recipe, so I hope it is worth the wait. But it will be; just like BCN!

Hm. Is it the night for the 2 AM Running of the Cats?
johovey almost 7 years ago
The cats will get bored eventually, especially if you turn over a few times and they have to adjust. Then they will have to find a new game!

My favorite thing is that you can see Puck’s white patch. Georgia is the Queen of Wonderful Whimsical Details.

What time does it usually post? It’s around 5am eastern us coast now. Which orbster actually receives it first? Online, not paper.

5:03 AM Pacific, and still no Jan 25th strip. Did someone hack GoComics, or do we have an anti-CN filibuster from the canine liberation front?

Ha ha, once I slept on the couch at a friends house and I woke up to his 3 cats sitting on me, staring at me.

Such an accurate representation of what cats do.
