Unfortunately, he moved to Hawaii. Later on, I had a thing for a lifeguard. That didn’t end well. And then I got a crush on my best friend’s older brother. After that, there was another actor who I once almost… Sorry, I’m getting off the subject.

I hope this is just a reference, not the bringing in of Aaron for a new arc.

Sigh. Think I will skip this week because I know all about Aaron Hill…and funny coincidence that Fay’s crush’s name has the same letter A. That cements my theory that Greg is wanting to bring back Tween Luann by drawing Fay since he couldn’t regress Luann back to that age again. Fay arcs are his comfort zone, to quote Seismic, the same way it was during the old days of young Luann.

Whew! So far, Aaron is only a flashback. But will he STAY that way?

I sense that we are leaving the Luannverse briefly for a flashback sequence. The question is: Will it last all week or just in one panel today?

Luann was right that she is not paid to give dating advice. But Luann could tell Fay to try to exercise her courage by inviting Axel to a movie or something. Fay should be aware that Axel might not respond, and Fay should be ready with other stuff to jump into.

Luann has that far – away dreamy look in her eyes. Something tells me that some of the cast might just be going to Hawaii in the next few weeks…

Don’t call it a “date” , go to a play or the theater , something relevant to your acting career, you know, to see how the pro’s do it, tell mom Luann will be there so there’s no need to worry, ha! ; if mom’s thick as a brick, she might buy it.

Oh no Luann not that drama show! Aaron Hill uck! Her infatuation with him is a complete waste of time.

I don’t think Faye’s mom is interested on Tiffany’s kind of drama. Besides, theres too much “mama drama” anyway for her to wanna be upstaged by Tiff.

I don’t know if it was intentional, but Aaron looks a lot like a young Paul MacCartney.

Funny… now, I’m cheering for Jack as Lu’s SO… BIG TIME!!! :) NO AARON HILL PLEASE!!!

AH, This is the first time I have seen him, or a young L for that matter. I picked up the comic when she was already getting ready to graduate high school

I guess Fay did not make her move during the play’s run.

They just did a play together, she spent a LOT of time with Axel. If she’s not comfortable by now asking him out, she’s never going to be. And Luann is the LAST person who should give her any advice, and not only because Fay’s mother threatened to fire her if she did.

Cue the ominous music…

Let the flashbacks commence!

And, now the flashbacks begin.

Asron Hill! Never liked him because he was so oblivious to Luann, but that was the point—her desperate introduction into desire, shyness, embarrassment, and ultimately growth into the next stage. He was and is a plot device. Since then Luann has gone through several stages, and more developed love interests, with Jack being a possible new one. Interesting how she is interacting with him, he is the one who is pursuing her, not the other way around. Her experience is going to be valuable to her mentee Fay. Yes she did not get hired to advise Fay in her love life, but I think the distinction that Fay is a “friend” of Luann, a young friend will be the vehicle for her advice. I have a feeling Fay will do a lot better with Axel than Luann initially (for years) did with Aaron Hill.

Will we see reminiscences of all her past crushes and love affairs for the rest of the week?

At 13 my crush was Patrick. My crush pretty much continued throughout high school, but it never consumed me. He was gorgeous, though!

The boo birds are out today. I like the way that L. doesn’t remember Aaron with regret or embarrassment, but acceptance of her crush and sympathy with Fay’s state of mind.

That was quite disciplined of Luann to refuse to help Fay date Axel. Also merciful to us, the readers. Luann probably absorbed Mrs. Garcia’s message.

Hmmm. I am feeling the path this arc may take will not be among my favorites. Hopefully Greg will pull a “rabbit out of his hat” so-to-speak, and surprise me instead. But, at this juncture, it appears that there are two likely potential paths for the arc:

1) A week (or more) of “reminisces” about the various unrequited “loves” (and perhaps even some requited “loves”) Luann has had. Potentially this could fully focus on Aaron Hill, or it could move and meander through other romantic interests. For me, I think these would tend to be similar to the “remember when” episodes that so frequented television in the 50s, 60s, and 70s where (probably because of the longer season) there would be one or two episodes a season of flashbacks with a little bit of commentary by the actors. I usually found those shows lackluster, and fear a similar reaction would be felt by me here.

2) The other potential arc is where Luann in her mind, basically decides “What the hell…” and decides to coach Fay on how to “get” Axel’s attention and a date…. even though Fay’s mother is against the idea. As I stated yesterday…. I feel strongly that Luann (as the mentor) should, if she wishes to guide Fay in this way, get Fay’s mother’s approval first. And, I also feel that Fay is old enough to know that for her to legitimately get Luann’s help in this matter, she (Fay) should also be willing and able to talk it over with her mother first.

The above seem the two likely scenarios. However, a more “soap opera-ish” path that would be strangely interesting that others alluded to would be:

3) Aaron is some relative of some sort (uncle, etc) of Fay… and he suddenly pops back into the comic in some fashion.

I tend to doubt that Greg would move in direction #3…. I think it would be difficult to sustain in any plausible fashion and doubt Greg would want to do that. But, if it did happen, at least for while, it would feel like we were in telenovela. Hah!

Oh, how could we still yearn for Aaron Hill?

Fay’s Mother’s attitude inhibits Luann from being a good friend for Fay.

“Your mom isn’t paying me to give you dating tips.” Maybe that’s a good thing…

I miss Aaron Hill, and I want him back in the mainland.

Aaron Hill? It could be worse. How about Aaron Marx (from Endtown)?

Or Victor Buono? It could be verse!

@KENNOWENSTER: There’s always “Crystel” (Crystal and Axel) or “Taxel” (Tara and Axel). Not to mention “Tifford” (Tiffany and Oxford, probably the best thing for Tiffany), Bernil (Bernice and Nil) and “Taro” (Tara and Piro, or maybe some kind of food…)

Since Fay’s mom is not paying Luann for the dating tips, I guess she will be giving them gratis or maybe pro bono. I do hope the Aaron Hill flashback is only a flash in the pan and not a large part of the arc….

“Flashback” isn’t that just another word for “I’m too lazy to draw something new?”.
