I had a colonoscopy quite a few years back and almost died have not had one since and would rather die than have another one (ended up with a ruptured ulcer)
I am having a colonoscopy myself on June 1. The only thing that worries me is my doctor’s comment, “Don’t worry. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.” I think he meant to be optimistic, but I can’t help but wonder if that light will reveal anything anyone (least of all myself) really wants to see?
An acquaintance of mine who has colitis had to go in for his routine colonoscopy. I asked him if they used a colitiscope. He didn’t think it was as funny as i did.
Colonoscopies are no fun, especially the prep, but they can save your life. I should have had my first one a little sooner, ended up having about 6 inches of colon removed to get the early stage cancer.

My mom did something similar. A colonoscopy and cataract surgery. Gads, that was something. I told her to watch what she schedules, next time!

Sounds like the docs got Earl coming and going.

Oh that’s gotta be painful. I remember knowing a woman who had all 4 wisdom teeth removed on the same day. What pain!

Earl is a closet masochist.

The problem isn’t the colonoscopy per se, it’s that damn GoLytely stuff they make you drink. (And the two straight months of diarrhea afterwards.)

That kind of a mistake will bite you in the butt!

The gravity of his mistake is clear … orificial gravity that is.
Earl has had a bad day at the orifices.

He wanted it all over and done with. I can relate to that.

How about a camera down both ends on the same day?

Isn’t Earl a little too old to be getting colonoscopies?

I had a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy at the same time. They met in the middle and shook hands and it was over with.

Never, ever, ever, take a powerful laxative and a powerful sleep medication at the same time!

Might as well get all the misery out of the way at once.

Don’t plan anything for the day before a colonoscopy. Just don’t. You’re going to be busy elsewhere.

Throw in an endoscopy and you’ve got a triple play.
