Poor Puck! All he can do is listen and try to be understanding. The man, on the other hand, should know better!

I have a question for this week. It is inspired by the talk of mystery books this week. I was wondering what types of books people like to read and maybe some of you favorites. I am a big fan of mysteries, but like other types too. I used to belong to a mystery book club were I recieved 3 paperback mysteries a month. They covered a fairly wide range of mysteries and some where better than others. As I got older I seemed to have less time to read, between getting busier and needing more sleep and I finally got to the point I had to cancel it, though I was sad to have the books stop. I am guessing it probably doesn’t exist anymore. I will try to post some of my favorites tomorrow. Looking forward to what others have to say and maybe getting some suggestions for new books too read.

Oh, Man, Man, Man. You’ve already seen one child come into the world, you should know better than this. I don’t know what should be said, as it varies from woman to woman and each woman has a list of esoteric variables to effect how any words out of a spouse’s mouth will be taken, but anything along the lines of “You haven’t been pregnant THAT long!” is very high up on the Don’t Say It You Idiot list.

Is this one based on real life too, Georgia?? I’m thinking The Man is really smart enough to be like Puck, although we all have our “did I really say that?” moments.

I do remember that the last week of pregnancy felt like a whole month.Being that large and not being able to get comfortable and yes, the heartburn! Don’t worry Georigia, 41 months is just about enough time for that little bun to be fully cooked and ready to pop out of the oven in time for Father’s Day.Speaking of Fathers Day, we are off to Innisfil Ribfest today to watch all of our favorite dads play great rock and roll and eat award winning bbq ribs. YUM!Have a wonderful Fathers Day tomorrow. Enjoy your family and honour your dads!

OMC, just when you think Puck cannot get any sweeter or more sensitive, he tops himself again. Man, take your cue from Pucky!

I know how she feels, my daughter was a late August baby, and son was a early September baby. So I was at my largest in the summer and I was miserable.

In spite of being an insensitive boor I survived the 41st month as did my better 90%. Our daughter is 37 so I guess it worked out.

The correct thing for the Man to say would have been, “You don’t mean months, Dear, you mean years! You’ve been pregnant for 41 years.”

Once I got past the 5 months of 24/7 “morning” sickness, being pregnant was no problem, even at the “41 months” stage. Didn’t have any of the “typical” heartburn, backaches, etc. (It was only in the last month that I started getting tired if I stood for too long.) In fact I rather enjoyed it. Could eat anyone under the table (& sometimes did, hence the 56 lbs. I put on my previously skinny frame). Got a hugely oversized gray sweatshirt, put “THE GOODRICH BLIMP” on it in blue iron-on letters & wore it proudly!

At 6 months, then-hubby & I drove out to Colorado in our brand-new van. Of course we had to do Pike’s Peak! At the top, I bounded out of the car like I always did, while he stumbled out & gasped, “There’s no air up here!” That’s how we learned that one of the little-known advantages of being pregnant is that having a third more blood, you get a third more oxygen. No altitude sickness for me on that trip!

There is an amazing spot, a State Forest, just down the street from me. It is also in the middle of a “rough” part of the city. An URBAN STATE FOREST! A jewel of beauty, and refuge. There is no cost to come. Those employees and volunteers of the jewel are inspired to share, to nurture the life and joy, with ALL who come!

So why, then, do I find careless trash? Evidence of individuals (sometimes whole families) taking a few moments of life to eat and breathe in life and vibrancy. A refuge from refuse, if you will. Then, they leave refuse; filth, trash, dangerous broken glass and choking hazards of plastic bags and human waste. They bring and spread what they are taking a break from. They tarnish and risk destroying, that very jewel they have just benefited from. I cannot wrap my mind around that. Not well, anyway.

This place, THIS forum, is a “refuge from refuse”. A place of beauty, vibrancy, joy, freely given, nurtured, shared. ALL WHO COME: PLEASE, come to enjoy the gentle love and support that has blossomed here. You need not contribute, there are no fees. If you are moved to contribute, you are welcome to do so, in gentle humor, gentle caring, even gentle, respectful, disagreement. Please, recognize and respect this jewel for what it is.

IF “gentle, repectful” are actually NOT what moves you to be here, then please, perhaps this is not where you are looking to be. There ARE forums for those who find satisfaction in other types of interaction and discourse. This is not one one of them.

In short, folks, here is not where you fling your trash. Please respect this beauty you have found, and leave it as wonderful, or even better, than you found it.

Thank you. Blessed Be. And, {{{{{{{{{{Mega Orb}}}}}}}}}} (I think that’s how hugs are posted?)

    :’)

I haven’t always the opportunity to keep up here like I would like to, but I think I’d like to be a “former lurker”. Lol! I just wish my “technical stuff” got along better with GoComics!!

I love Lupin’s expression in the first panel.

“Beware the fury of a patient man.” As for the fury of a patient woman, YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW.

I thought I was permanently pregnant.
