Okay. Let’s be clear here. There is no way, NO WAY, that Les is gonna make Waffles, OJ, Ice Pops or Christmas Cookies. Oh sure, He’ll eat them after Gunther has made them and later give some to Tiffany and swear up and down that “HE” made them, but that’s as far as it’ll go.

And quite frankly if the Two Bit-BUM, is walking around in funky clothes that haven’t been washed in a month, I dunno know if I’d want to “consume” anything He’s “prepared,” anyway.

When I went to college in 1980 I came home after the first semester to find my mother had thrown out my 1500 Marvel comics, most were of the 1960s and in good shape………..she had no idea what they were worth even then……they would be a small fortune now.

I think this is the entryway to the next stage of Gunther, and Irma’s life. It’s hard for them to let go of the mother-son partnership, them against the world, and protected as such. I have seen this phenomenon with single mothers before, where the children and mom become a very close self-affirming unit. Eventually what has to happen is that both mom and kids have to move on to the next stage. I think, believe it or not, they are, and GUnther will lead the way, which will make Irma both sad and happy because she will be able to go on with her life.

It’s sad to take everything from Mom. Right after I moved out of the house, I went to the store and walked down the aisles slowly and carefully, picking out everything I needed. To this day, I remember how terrific it felt to do that.

I think Karen believes this is somehow “cute” or a nostalgic “saying goodbye” episode. It’s not playing out that way. Seems more like a tooth pulling.

Perhaps by Saturday Gunther will wake up and walk away from this mess. But I can’t see GnK wasting that shiny, brand new “Guest House” they built.

As Clubber Lane so eloquently put it “Prediction PAIN!” For Gunther, that is.

Oh, I think G&K are aware of the EEYUK element… they’re just playing Iit for chuckles, and maybe even to needle a few of the faithful. And Gunter hasn’t got the means to walk away from the situation. I think we’re all going to have to put up with a bit of pain while G-boy learns to stand up for himself.

I postponed college when neither my mother nor I could afford to send me. I did go to college much later in life though, by then, my career(s) had been established.

The bottom line is: If Gunther came to me right now, I would probably prescribe the same medicine as I took myself.

As important as college is these days, sometimes, right-out-of-high-school is not the best time!

And if money is an issue, please refer to the previous sentence!

@SCHRODINGER’S DOG: It’s real hard for hoarders to get rid of anything at all. No surprise that a high chair is still in Irma’s house. Probably all of Gunther’s baby clothes, too. I have boxes of pix, books and letters from deceased relatives; keep trying to ‘sort through them’ and discard some, but actually feel something like panic when I try to get rid of the pix. Almost like I’m trying to forget the relative. So I sympathize…

    Now this is Distrubing.

Last week those of Us who rightfully despise that loathsome Les Knox creature, were elated and vindicated as it was proven beyond any shadow of a doubt, that he’s STILL the Worthless, Greedy, Punk he’s ALWAYS been. And some of Us had “Big Fun” rubbing that FACT in the faces of the Well-Meaning but Misguided, “Les Knox Apologists.”

This week, the tables have turned, and the handful of Us “Gunther Fans” will have to stomach the fact that Gunther is STILL a Naive, Wimpy, Momma’s Boy.

The SAD part is neither one of these guys have changed. And Honestly, they CAN’T change in order for this questionable (GAG) “Odd Couple” arrangement to work.

Gunther will SUFFER for our “amusement.”

While Les Knox? Hell, “HE” gets a nice home, a New Loving Pseudo Mother (Irma), a willing Girlfriend (Tiffany) “If” he wants her, and a personal “House Slave,” Gunther. Couple THAT with the fact that Les has apparently been “freed” and “forgiven” from his financial debt to his Mother Ann, AFTER-HE-STOLE-HER-CREDIT-CARD-AND-RAN-IT-UP-TO-THE-TUNE-OF-FIVE-GRAND. And Les has gotten “even” with her to boot. Everything is coming up Roses for the Biggest Lowlife in the Strip.

It’s times like these, that I’m Glad and I HOPE that the majority of Luann readers are older fans and not young impressionable teens. Because the youth, especially the guys are going to look at this and ask: “Why the Heck should I be a Wimpy Gunther Berger, when I can be a tough guy Les Knox, and push people around, take whatever I want and end up with the Hot Girl?” Jeeze.

I have a number of pieces of Griswold cast iron/ hammered finish/ hinged lid skillets, chicken fryers, and Dutch ovens that have been around a lot longer than my 61 years, and they are still in great condition, still in use, and work great on an inductive cooking surface as well as a standard gas or electric range. Almost nothing sticks to them – the insides were milled at the factory and are unlike the rough cast iron they produce today.
