Gotta love overly helpful cats. Now go be super helpful and chase off the July Bug, Elvis! Blossom can give you tips on protecting your People from evil insect invaders!
Every so often, something happens on a website that defies analysis. Like now. When something like this happens- like LINES of text disappearing for no reason- I always invoke the image of Mr. Scott from the Star Trek episode “The Doomsday Machine” (best episode EVER) when he runs out of the transporter saying; “What’s th’ matter wi’ that thing?” It’s ok, Scotty- I just dropped in a new Dilithium crystal…
Tre-C looked tired; “You’re going to want me to lead, right?” "Let’s talk for a bit in this shady spot. Are you hungry? Need some water? Is the noise going to bother you? " Tre-C laughed; “No, Aunt Megan. I’m good for now.” Then she rolled over on her back on the grass and stretched to the point that she looked about four feet long. Megan observed; “Curious spot pattern on your tummy- are you part Mau?” “Pssht… couldn’t tell you. The dogs have the best word for it; as far as I know I’m just a mutt.” Tre-C rolled again, then began scratching her back on the ground. Then she got up and walked over to Megan, rubbed her forehead on the big tuxedo’s head and sat down with her front paws tucked in- the classic “meatloaf” position.
“I was born about 10 minutes from here behind a cute little green house with big trees in the back yard. Mom was young- real young. I don’t think she was really prepared to have babies because I didn’t see her much after she had us.” “Us?” Megan asked. “Yeah- there were three of us in the litter. I remember mom feeding us, then bailing. My two siblings were not doing as well as I was; that I could see, anyway. Then one night- my eyes hadn’t been open that long- the old man came from the house and collected them. I know better now, but at the time I didn’t know if he was going to nurse them or make a savory stew. So I hid in the other house that they keep all their things in.” “A garage?” “Yeah, the garage. That place had so much stuff in it I was sure they’d never find me. Now that I think about it, they had a car in there, too. I don’t think they ever used it, though…” Megan had been listening in rapt silence; "Tre-C, I think I know what you “lost” here, but I have to ask; what, specifically, are we looking for?" And Megan was right about the answer… Tre-C stood and replied; “Megan, I need to find my mother…”
Yea! the July bug is finally here :) And Elvis’s eyebrows are going into orbit in that last panel, it’s on now … he’s got a baby to protect!
Ah yes, the overly helpful cat. That was my Mozart- 18 lbs of cow-hocked, pigeon-toed, short of a few bricks, part Siamese assistant extraordinaire. He was a lovey-dovey and always meant well but some days he drove me round the bend :)
@Shaunnmunn: As per our conversation from yesterday, remember how you and I wanted to know how to make a black heart in text? It’s really simple! Scaeva and the other peeps who tried to help us—sorries, but nothing you all said really helped but it did get me looking into a tutorial online. Shaunn, all you need to do is hold down the “Alt” button and press on the number keypad on the far right of your keyboard the number 3: ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Voila! ☺
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Orb bumps, boops and hugs going out to Lady Kat and her orb))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Not heard a peep out of you lately, Lady . . getting worried about ya. I hope everything’s okay with you and Paul. ♥
Good morning and happy hump day, orbsters and orbabies. I know I haven’t been around much lately, we’ve just had a lot going on with the hospital and such and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are our really busy days. We found out yesterday that Paul’s last chemo treatment is August 1, and his last radiation treatment is August 7. Yaayyyy!!!! We are almost done. On the down side, he has no appetite to speak of and is living on puddings, ice cream, Boost and Ensure. However, his appetite should come back after the treatments end. Love, hugs, bumps and boops to all who have been so supportive during this time.
I always wondered how you could tell if babies were still alive. who would have thought sniffing was the answer?! You learn so much from these broadcasts, thanks, Elvis!!
♥♥♥ A loving Wellsday to all our orbsters who are suffering, or attending someone who is suffering. Many of you keep your woes to yourself, and that is understandable. Others share their news because the Mega Orb responds with loving energy, to aid the healing as best we can.
Spoken or unspoken, you’re in the best place in the world for concerned friends!Who would have thought the Web could have such an oasis? We’re here! We care! ♥♥♥
Is JulyBug a cicada? We usually have them around here in Georgia in July, but I’ve not heard any this year (they seem to be more easily heard than seen).
::shiver:: I have a phobia of June bugs ever since a great big one flew right at my head and got tangled in my bangs on fateful summer evening. My mom had to cut it out of my hair while it made that awful BZZZZZZZ noise right up against my forehead!
We have all literally lost a dear four-legged member of the family, or had to mercifully ‘put down’. It is difficult in the best of circumstances, but just got a face page from a cousin that I had to share:Two weeks ago they had to ‘put down’ their cat. Today it was the dog that they had had since they married, the only dog their two young (5 and 7) sons have known, and shortly they will be moving a great distance from grandparents and the rest of the family. The older son said “We won’t see Chewy again.”Younger son said “Yes, we will. He will always be in Mommy’s phone(camera). She has lots of pictures.”Out of the mouths of babes. I never thought of it that way. What a wonderful attitude by a young child who is wise beyond his years.
