The dreaded accordion. I wonder if accordion players will feel offended. The script seems to make fun of the accordion.

Still sounds a little more interesting than “Up & Down & Up & Down: The Untold Story of the Garage Door Opener”

Actually, that is kind of unfair of Liz. When she choses a chick flick Jon has to sit through it and endure it too.

Oh, sure, Liz, Garfield and Odie walk out now, but they’ll regret it when the movie gets to the great accordion sex scandals of the late Seventies. They don’t call it the “squeezebox” for nothing.

Jon should put on one of my favorite movies: Robert Blake, Robert Conrad, Robert DeNiro, Robert Duvall, Robert Redford, Robert Urich and Robert Vaughn in…“What About Bob?”

Depending on how the material is presented, it could be a very interesting documentary. There’s a lot of interesting content in the history of musical instruments, including how the modern forms evolved from earlier designs, how they vary from country to country, and the different performance styles used in different times and places.

BTW, if you’re ever in the Phonenix, AZ area, check out the Musical Instrument Museum. It’s a huge building dedicated to this sort of thing.

Documentaries are meant to be enjoyed alone. Sort of like porn. That’s what I heard anyway.

Polka is ok. However, there’s a lot of accordion traditional music from other cultures: Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Ukraine, Central & South America. Lots of musical choices!

Laugh at Lawrence all ya want, but he was the richest entertainer of his day – he took care of his musicians – and his performances are still being played today. Read his autobiography to find out just how great he really was!
