Well, BCN really should have had multiple cameras in the barn, there are so many different animals. Will we be privileged to have one on one interviews? And is Burt’s last name McDonald? Just askin’.
Tre-C took a couple of minutes to let the adrenaline wear off, then followed Megan’s route out the window they came in through. Megan was comforting Hector in the shadow of one of the few trees on the property. “You ok, Hector?” Tre-C asked as she walked up. “Well, I don’t have nine lives but at least this one’s still intact.” “That nine lives thing is just a myth anyway, you know.” Tre-C interjected with a grin. Megan was busy licking Hector clean, but looked up briefly; “not for all of us…,” then turned back to the little mouse; “hold still… you reek, and I don’t want every other rodent in the city following us.” ============= After Megan had freshened Hector to her satisfaction, she turned to Tre-C. “Kitten, I’m gonna need you to take Hector home- there’s something I want to do here. You good with that?” “Sure, Meg- anything I can help you with?” “No, but I have to go pretty quickly. I have to catch that driver before he leaves again.” And before Tre-C could ask another question, Megan was gone. Tre-C looked down at Hector; “What did she mean by that?” Hector just smiled about as wide as a mouse could; “Ask her when we get back…"
Good morning and happy Friday/TGIF, orbsters and orbabies. Well, I had my teeth removed yesterday and dentures shoved in. Thanks to some prescription-strength Ibuprofen, I am feeling only moderate discomfort. I slept fairly well last night and actually woke Yum Yum up this morning, thus preventing her morning tap dance on Paul and me. Paul continues to progress nicely, He can swallow nicely and is eating well. Hopefully he will start putting weight back on and will be back to his old self. Thank you all so much for your support during this trying time.
BTW Hurricane (or tropical storm) Florence has changed our destination. We will be headed to Canada and Maine. Better safe than sorry. I will check in when I can.
All chickens aren’t girls, but the boy chickens tend to go into the soup early on, since they don’t lay eggs and they make trouble if you let them hang around.
What kind of animals are in panel 3? Llamas? Baby camels?
The screen door is now being left open 24/7 (except at breakfast when they still get kitten special canned food). Lupin is living up to his namesake. Truly the bold adventurer. Still just a tiny ball of fluff, he ventures anywhere and everywhere in the house with no fear.
Elvis is not quite as intrepid. He still spends his nap time in the bathroom in his secure little cat pad/bed, pining away for his brother. He does come out most of the time but is much more inclined to flee back to the bathroom in the event of alarming noises or the lumbering bulk of the big dumb one (me).
Lupin has claimed the giant cat tree as his own. 10 feet tall, 7 platforms, it is a cat stairway from the living room to the loft. He hasn’t figured that part out yet. He likes to sit halfway up and be the master of all he surveys (and nap).
They have joined the morning ritual, again with Lupin leading Elvis. Sleep is a many splendored thing and we take it seriously around here. If we take it too seriously, the crew accumulates one by one on the bed. Walking, running, jockeying for position, kicking and stomping Lisa awake (there are advantages to being the big dumb one). She is the Num Num giver, the keeper of the food, the mistress of the bowl, all great Poobess of the meal….you get the picture.
Lupin will now be found on the bed in the morning, walking, running, jockeying for position, kicking and stomping Lisa awake. Elvis is on the floor guarding the exit along with Clark, who is above such ruffian behavior.
More later, but things are progressing well. Oh yeah. They have learned their names and look up individually at the correct sound. My problem now is the “Hey, Clark….ummm….Lupin….uhh…..whatever your name is.” It will take me longer to learn their names than it did for them.
This from Georgia over on BCN Facebook on the llama/alpaca/sheep/goat question. Georgia Dunn – Breaking Cat News They are llamas! Burt really did live on a llama farm, his people used to help care for the llamas. Later they bought his Woman’s grandfather’s home and land, and now Burt lives in the woods near a lovely little pond. Deer and other wildlife visit. They harvest hops, grow veggies, and still raise chickens! (And two guinea pigs!)
I see that one person has mentioned the llama wearing a beret, but has anyone noticed that it is a raspberry beret? Always lots of details in each strip!

Burt seems to spend more time on all fours than our intrepid reporters and manages to look far more graceful. IMO.
