My mother used to be known for her ability to grow African Violets in the house. The last one was eaten by Mr. Peanut before she died. That saved me killing it with love and ignorance, I guess.

I have had the good fortune to have cats (recently) that can’t jump. I don’t know WHY they can’t jump, they just don’t for some odd reason. Whatever breakables I have are safe.

But not from the dogs…

That’s how cats deal with things that they decide are where they shouldn’t be.

That, or piddle on them.

Some how I see Earl getting the blame for this broken house plant :-(

Houseplants make a lot less mess than cats do.

If I must have one or the other, I’ll take the house plant.

My cat Beau is the feline destroyer of all things nice. He knocks over vases, so no more pretty flowers from my sweetie.

Cats are proof the world isn’t flat. If it was, they’d have pushed everything off the edge by now.

Mine shoved an urn holding a couple tablespoons of my dad’s ashes off the piano…Dad…or part of him anyway…..still resides between the keys.

The cats at Breaking Cat News would agree.

I thought cats considered potted plants like litter boxes.

Yes. This is a lesson I learned many years ago.

I’ve heard earthquake putty is good for this. Sold in quake prone areas, designed to keep vases and things from falling over if there’s minor shaking.
