Janis, Standing up straight would help⊠shoulders curled forward automatically causes the rest of your fineness to pooch out in front and sag elsewhere. Shoulders back, head up, and NOW look at yourself in the mirror. Thank you.
I feel ya, Janis. I was a size 0 in high school, and now 4 kids later, it seems a size 4 is as small as i can get with exercise and proper eating! But the husband loves the curves that didnât show up until after kids. Iâve learned to appreciate what I have.
âStar-crossedâ is a reference to lines in the prologue of Shakespeareâs âRomeo and Julietâ: âFrom forth the fatal loins of these two foes, / A pair of star-crossâd lovers take their life.â It means âcursedâ as if by a malign astrological influence. Seems a bit overstated for being unhappy with the size of your hips. Thatâs maybe the joke: a very attractive woman not seeing how little it matters that sheâs grown slightly beyond her adolescent proportions.
We feel your pain, Janis. I managed to keep my youthful shape into my 40s. Even after a late pregnancy I was still wearing clothes from my teens. But, a bout of post-partum depression and (the pills prescribed,) plus gravity did in my figure. Sooner or later, you learn to wear what fits well.
I prefer broomstick skirts when my weight is fluctuating. They have a drawstring waist and are nice enough to go to town in on short notice. Pants just donât want to cooperate sometimes.
I weigh (within 3 pounds up and down over the week) the same as when I graduated from high school after losing around 70 pounds over about a decade plus ago. I know most people who say they weigh what they weighed in high school are bragging about still be thin and in shape. I was fat in high school and am fat now.
What does bother me is that after losing the 70 pounds and keeping it off over 10 years plus I am still the same size as I was before I lost the 70 pounds â which is a good 4 sizes larger than I was in high school. Or as my husband said to me when I complained about the lack of change of size â it is a good thing I did not change size after losing 70 pounds. I canât find clothes I like to replace what wears out and would have even more of a problem if I did not have the clothes that fit me 70 years ago to still wear.

I donât get it. Did she wear baggy pants in college when she was thin, and now she wears skinny pants when she is heavier?

I ignore the current âstyleâ and wear what I like. Though I am a low key dresser. And male.
