Johnâs problem appears to be different from any that I have experienced. Faced with a dishwasher full of dishes so clean that they obviously sparkle with heat lines coming off them, he drops his cup in anyway. That is exceptionally stupid on his part. For me, the heat is a big giveaway and itâs usually so hot, itâs hard not to notice it.
When I have had this problem with putting dirty dishes in a dishwasher was when the dishwasher did, in fact, do a terrible job washing the dishes so they finished still mostly dirty. We have a little reversible sign on our dishwasher now that says whether the dishes in dishwasher are clean or dirty. It works great if people remember to set it after they run the dishwasher.
They really need to smell before deciding whether they are dirty or clean. Clean dishes will whiff of dishwasher soap. Dirty dishes are smelly. Unless Elly rinses all dinnerware with pump dish soap before loading. It is like cleaning a house before the cleaning lady comes or washing hair before going to the hair salon.
@AlondraRachellaLabute â perhaps a better statement would have been either âjust like my husband.â (If you have one) or better yet âjust like the unobservant/Inattentive.â
This has nothing to do with a dishwasher, but why canât a male put his dirty socks and undies in the hamper located 6 inches away? Is it a subconscious way of marking his territory?
Our dish washer has a little green light that come on after the drying cycle is done. Everybody in the house knows that if the green light is on; donât put anything in the washer till everything is taken out and put away.
This is a bit sexist. It is just to prove a point and if it was the other way around most people would not believe it as Ellie would never do this, while John would. However, it is funny because John would do it, not because he is behaving like a man.
this is where a little sign hanging on the dishwasher would be nice. One side says âdirtyâ and one side says âcleanâ. OrâŠâŠ.we could all just look at the dishes and tell which one is which.
We solved that problem in our house by attaching a magnet that said âcleanâ as soon as the washing began. With three little kids, at the beginning, when we got the dishwasher, we had that problem a few times.
One of my friends got a second dishwasher and she never unloads as the family uses the dishes. They just take what they need from the one that says âcleanâ, and load the second one with the new batch of the dirty onesâŠthen transfer the âcleanâ magnet, when itâs full and the washing cycle is engaged. A good solution if you have the kitchen spaceâŠ
After running the dishwasher and opening it to let the dishes air dry, if i donât have the inclination to empty it right away i close and lock it again. So if go to put something dirty in and itâs locked i know better.
If I had a nickel for every time one of my kids loaded a dirty dish into a dishwasher full of clean dishes⊠not that I can get them to put their dirty dishes in there any other timeâŠ
In my house, John would now be washing every dish by hand until it passed my inspection. And yes, I would be standing over him b*tching the entire time. He would never make that mistake again.
Weâve got the âreversible signâ tooâŠbut it doesnât always get remembered and there is a certain counterpart to John at our house who often dumps his coffee cup in on the clean dishesâŠbut at least he rinses it out first.
so many people are offering ways to do it better or getting âtriggeredâ and upset. If we canât laugh at dumb mistakes like this, we are a sorry lot. Many of us have been distracted or in a hurry and âoopsâ. Hopefully heâll help clean up the mess he just made.

Just another typical âJohn moveâ. Now Elly will get her mad face on and scream and holler at him, as is her way.

A mistake that will never be made again after heâs re-washed all the affected dishes by hand.
