Elvis, Trevor! You both need to take a time out to pricess! You’re both too busy trying to make points while collecting grievances. You aren’t listening to each other. Meanwhile, Beatrix is doing her best to make sure Trevor remains on the mic! Time of Puck to drag out his referee stripes and whistle! This is all just a tempest in a teapot!
Great time in Rhode Island!!! . The whole human family was there, with Trevor AND Burt with their Women, and Tommy & Sophie’s Woman was there too! OMC Trevor & Burt are just the most handsome gentlemen, except for Our 3 Boys of course! I would highly recommend watching the video, there are a few hints about things to come (can’t wait for Sunday’s broadcast!) & Georgia is a wonderful speaker, so natural and funny. She signed whatever anyone brought so I had her sign Lupin Leaps In and also asked Ryan (The Man) to sign the fist page as well, since it was “The Man has Lost His Tail” I wish i had thought to ask Trevor, Burt, Tommy & Sophie’s women to sign as well. DUH! Just got home about an hour ago after getting a weeeeeee bit lost, going to shower and get some sleep (thankfully I was smart enough to take the morning off from work).
Ah frisbees, the silent hunters! (They’re sneakier than owls, although quieter! Owls can make quite a racket when they’re not flying; frisbees, silent all the time, flying or not.)
Oops, I forgot, I saw the Big Pink House!, so beautiful, and it looked like there was a small pink garage or shed in the back. maybe its a “She Shed”?!?! will try to post pics tomorrow. NOW i’m off to bed.
Aw, Trevor, we understand! I think everyone has something semi-irrational that makes them anxious.
(I personally am terrified of jellyfish. I’ve never been stung; I just can’t stand the way they move. Even static pictures of jellyfish make me shudder. Ugh. Every aquarium and movie about the ocean, a minefield. You know that scene in “Finding Nemo” with the giant swarm of stinging jellyfish? Had to keep my eyes shut the whole way through.)
At least Elvis has learned that dogs get scared. He’s making progress. Now if the storm would just go away and give everybody a chance to calm down and think rationally.
Of course, the sudden reappearance of a large orange cat (a strange female, even) will probably stir things up a bit.
I cannot imagine what our Jelly would think of a Frisbee. She has a very strange idea of fetch as it is. She happily jumps up and/or runs to catch balls. Then doesn’t bring them back, just stands and grins til a new one appears. She only brings one back if we stand up to go inside… silly puppers .. LOL!
Not all dogs are built for jumping to catch frisbees or to play fetch. Our smaller pupper is great at catching treats (but not great at catching anything else). We try with our Pyrenees and they just bounce of her nose. Also, not every dog likes balls and frisbees – even if they are built for catch and fetch.
Oh, yes – I forgot to mention that Paul and I are off to the cabin tomorrow. I should be back Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. I can’t (well, actually, I could) comment from the cabin because it uses up my data at an absolutely horrendous rate, as I found out to my financial distress last month.
The video of her talk in Ashaway, where the strip is modelled on, is on her page on FB. You don’t have to have an account to watch, it’s public. Just google “Georgia Dunn breaking cat news.” Her page is pretty much the best thing on fb and a good enough reason to get an account, even if you keep it totally private. She posts extra bits, news, and annoucements there. You can also follow her on twitter for updates, but since I’m not a twitter, I find it confusing.
wondering if anyone from the northeast/east coast of the US would like to get together for a BCN reunion/meet & greet? we could meet at a halfway point or in Ashaway. I believe Crandall’s Field is across the street from the BPH, so we might be able to picnic there. not sure what’s available, I only used it for a turnaround. I was past the BPH before I realized it. I would be willing to help plan such an event. OR since a lot of us are not independently wealthy, perhaps we could do an online reunion that could include everyone, i’m thinking Skype, but I have no idea how to do it, anyone??
Since it’s the last day of July, thought I’d share that we had a July bug sighting at the farmhouse project Sunday. We’ve been clearing brush out of the driveway, and normally my husband is used to hearing me swear at multi-flora rosebushes as I try to eliminate the scratchy, invasive nuisances. This time he heard me laughing. “What’s so funny?” he asked from farther down the way. “I caught a July Bug!” “Is it wearing goggles and does it have a mustache?” As I walked toward him he started laughing, as he could hear the indignant BRRRRZZZZTT coming from my cupped hands. I opened them up when I got to him and the beetle stood still for a moment before zipping around us and zooming away with a BBRRrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzz down the driveway and towards the woods. I didn’t hear laughter, but we may have missed it due to us laughing ourselves.
We haven’t seen Goldie since July 16. I’m trying to be patient but now I wake in the middle of the night to check and see if we finally get to meet her. Please Georgia
Just for the record: Trevor is a Border Collie, and contrary to their PR, not all BCs love toys or chasing. In forty+ years with BCs (all rescues) we’ve had maybe one that was interested in frisbees, and our current guy who loves his blue chew toys. Our senior guy believes that what’s yours is yours and is NOT interested in toys or play with people, which is, like, REALLY SCARY. He lays the law down for the junior, but never touches anything but his own bowls. All of which is to say, “Burt, you keep right on being BURT!”

I feel the same way about frisbees. Must be even worse for dogs, having frisbees thrown directly into their faces!♥

Why has the coloring been so dark the last two days. It’s difficult to see the little details.

I think catching frisbees in your teeth is a great skill. But if it’s the only skill you’ve got to deal with the monster orange cat, you’re doomed.

Honestly, Trevor? That’s the exact reason I was always bad at sports. Stupid balls always coming at me from out of nowhere…

Although, Elvis is playing into the high strung cat stereotype quite nicely.

Instead of catching frisbees, Kelly Clarkson will Catch Her Breath
Elvis: I just wanna be understood,
Compliments are all to the good,
I’ve spent most of my life
Doing my best to spread the truth,
Educating the Human youth,
Watching out for the girl and cat
Complimenting what dogs can do:
…….
Catching a disk!
Letting it go!
This accomplishment can be such a great show!
Don’t get me wrong!
No disrespect.
Get through the storm, wondering what happens next.
…….
Catch a disk, not what I care to do,
Too much to attend to,
Catch a disk, not what I care to do,
Too much to attend to,
…….
Trevor: No disrespect or anything,
Just meant Siamese can be king
I’ve spend most of my life
Herding sheep and cows and some goats
Try to keep on a happy note,
I just don’t have the time:
…….
Catching a disk!
Letting it go!
This accomplishment can be such a great show!
Don’t get me wrong!
No disrespect.
Get through the storm, wondering what happens next.
…….
Catch a disk, not what I care to do,
Too much to attend to,
Catch a disk, not what I care to do,
Too much to attend to,
…….
We need to see,
The same way as Bea,
We need to see,
The same way as Bea,
…….
Catching the good
In everyone,
Getting along, knowing how it is done!
There just may be
Someone out there
Who needs some shelter
And what we have to share!
…….
One large cat!
Is there one around?
One large cat?
Who needs to be found?
One large cat?
