That being said, this is becoming a big problem all around. My wife’s hometown just suspended its award-winning football program; just eight kids came out for preseason camp, and there isn’t a program in the county that isn’t forced to play some kids both ways. (Heck, said hometown team had to do a co-op last year with another district to field a team at all.)
What does that even mean? Who likes being shallow? Marty was basically just confirming what Gil himself said about his team. Why did he even dis his team like that to Moon anyway?
“Every coach worries about shallowness at key positions, just the same way that every drunk worries about shallowness in his last bottle of booze. Right, Marty?”
Mighty big of GilPa, giving exclusive interviews to Marjie and Marty. Why didn’t he consolidate their visits to eliminate repetitive questions? Did Thorp save a leftover Sloppy Joe for Moonpie? Marty has a reputation for messing things up.
P 2.5: “yes, captain douche, that IS what I’m saying…..in case you didn’t notice, this is high school football…not pro….I lose experienced players every year, so depth is always a problem….hey Kaz!….get a load of this clown, would ya’…..”
You know Marty, it’s rather ridiculous to rip on a high school coach for his team’s lack of depth. This isn’t college or the pros where you can sign or recruit players from anywhere. You’re stuck with who’s in your district. It’s not like Gil can just get players to transfer in every year, or have kids set up fake home addresses to be able to play on his team, or…..
Hmm, maybe Marty is right to rip him after all. And speaking of ripping, hope you won’t rip on today’s Mopped Up Thorp too harshly.

P1, Well, at least the offense doesn’t have to battle the nonexistent defense.
P2, The depth of the showers has been a problem for years.
P3, Looks like both of these guys are wading into the shallow end.

If you have two good people for one position, and nobody good at another position, why don’t you just shift one?

Wouldn’t be great if Kaylie is still on the range to wish everyone Merry Christmas?
