My Mom would make me pancakes and hot chocolate when I came in from sledding and playing in the snow. Very fond memories of that.

Boy, his attitude changed really fast!

It’s always dark at 3:04 am.

Little Calvin, it feels like years since she’s been here

I thought the expression was “You’ll spoil your dinner”, which never made sense.

When did a note from mom ever stop Calvin?

He’s five, right? I’m not sure he should be alone in the house. Can he read that note? I don’t know when kids learn to read but being 5 and in kindergarten seems a little soon.

Leaving a 5 year old in a house alone is a misdemeanor. A nosey neighbour will call 911 and she will lose Calvin. wait,,,,, AAAHHhhhh now I get the plan.

Harsh, cold reality. Sorry, Cal.

I’m with you Calvin, life’s little disappointments are a bummer.

Is the kitchen on the second floor or did he change clothes in the basement?

My boys came in from playing in the snow wet and cold. They got out of their wet clothes, crying. “What do we do now?”

“To the bath!”

“YEA!”

Soon, they were all warmed up and happily playing in the bath. They had so many bath toys I wondered how there was room for boys.

Sounds like a quote from the Bill Murray character in Ground Hog Day!

“P.S. And don’t mess with the BB gun. You’ll shoot your eye out.”

But then, she did not say that Hobbes couldn’t have anything….

Winters are long, cold and dark anyway.

My mom always said the same thing, then as dinner was winding down she would always say, make sure you clean your plate!

My compliments to all mothers for making the kids feel sooo comfortable, including mine. One of the finest relationships.

Actually, he’s living in the best of all possible situations… all things considered. :-)
