I do wonder in cases like this that with John now knowing what he knows, does he still want to work for this guy?

At least the financial award from the discrimination lawsuit should help pay some bills.

I suppose that it’s possible that John still won’t get the job because the backlash will close down the start up, but here’s hoping anyhow.

That was nice of Roz. But if I was John, I would be furious she did that…regardless of the result.

I shared Roz’s belief that the character was just a little misguided. Clearly not the case. I guess the resolution won’t be that guy having personal growth and finally hiring John.

This story line has made me think about being out at work. It is scary thing, especially in states like Michigan that don’t have any legal employment protection for LGBT. I left a past job after they found out I am gay. I didn’t get fired, but my boss was uncomfortable after he ran into me outside work and met my boyfriend. Afterwards, it was pretty clear that my opportunities at the company were reduced since I was being iced out. Even if nothing directly occurs like in this story line, your job/career can be indirectly derailed if people find out.

Ummmmm, I love this strip, however I did expect it to be more inclusive and not take part in the corporate media’s recent foray in fostering a generation war. As a Boomer/Gen X Hybrid, I would like to point out that it is only we of the older generations who are willing to pay to read the comics. My Millennial offspring both can’t really afford, and wouldn’t consider paying for the funnies. And, not for nothing, but we elders worked to make the young’un’s comfortable enough to explore and accept their myriad identities.Again, I adore this strip, but, just sayin’.
