Oh, come on, Andi. You should be impressed that he stayed awake for the whole thing.

James Horner (1953-2015) sure made a wonderful soundtrack for it.

Titanic was one of the biggest piles of schmaltzy, steaming horse sh*t I have ever had the misfortune to sit through. That film took 3 hours of my life that I will never get back.

It’s like I heard a teenage girl say, “I liked the movie, but I don’t know why they had to make the ship sink at the end.”

The best movie love story ever is the first 10 minutes of “Up.”

I knew how it ended before the movie was released, so I just never wanted to watch a 3 hour movie about people drowning.

I can do “chick flicks.” I can also do shopping with my wife. I get a lot of brownie points that way.

It works both ways. My wife is an avid football fan and yells at the TV more than I do. (Did Green Bay even get off the team bus yesterday?). She will also watch a baseball game on TV (I prefer to go to the local minor league park and watch the game live) and understands more about basketball than I do.

My husband & I went to see it when it first came out. My husband is a transportation-nut and had actually studied the Titanic. He had seen some “behind the scenes” stuff – like the fact that all of the linens, dishes, etc., were made by the same company who actually made them for the actual Titanic – and was dying to see it. Near the end of the movie we both needed to use the bathroom, but neither of us wanted to miss a second of the movie, we were so engrossed. When the movie ended, my husband got up, stretched, looked at his watch…“THREE HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES? I SAT THERE FOR THREE HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES?” (You see, at the time, he was also a smoker; I could tell how good or bad a movie was by how many ciggy-breaks he’d take.)

It was our pleasure, years later, to take our girls to see it in 3-D.

I took a date to see it at the theater when it came out. Actually, it had been out for a couple of months by then and the theater was STILL nearly sold out. For what it’s worth, the movie wasn’t that bad. The date, not so much…

In defense of the movie, James Cameron used a bunch of its profit to protect and explore the wreck, itself. He’s also helped fund the research about its history.

It had Gaelic Storm playing in steerage. Best Irish pub band EVAH. Separately, there was plenty of room for Jack on the door

I watched “Titanic” on TV, expecting not to like it but getting wowed by it. Unfortunately, it didn’t hold up to a second (partial) viewing.

It’s on my reverse bucket list: no matter how long I live, I’ll never watch Titanic. It doesn’t help that Canada’s shame (Celine Dion) sings the theme song.

I was disappointed at the opportunity missed. Spent too much time on the fake characters than on the real people who experienced it.
