Just watched “Holiday Inn” and noticed there were real lite candles on the Christmas tree. Surprising since it was filmed in 1942. Nostalgia for better times maybe?
I’m reminded of the start of the Barcelona olympics. an archer fired a flaming arrow through a gas ring to light the olympic flame. everyone ooh’ed and ah’ed. I was wondering where that flaming arrow landed.
Australia. Reuter’s News had an article about an artist down there you put a bunch of burnt tree remains into a Christmas tree shape with presents in Sydney.

Especially since they put the tree in a non-smoking section.

hopefully, there are some firefighters in the area to make sure that this fire doesn’t spread all over the place!

On the other hand, if Id ever hosts the Olympics, they’ve got the right guy for lighting the cauldron!

Actually, I’m okay with this.

Ah yes, miscommunication/misunderstanding: possibly the most common human interaction. And very entertaining in the comments as well.

“My candle burns at both ends, it will not last the night. But Oh! my foes and Ah! my friends, it gives such a lovely light!” – Tallulah Bankhead.

Combining Christmas tree & yule log… very efficient

Also not a great idea to hire John “Pillow Pyro” Orr to light the tree.
Calliope22471 about 5 years ago
Yeah, might want to point out and draw diagrams that whatever’s on top of the tree is the thing to be lit. Not the whole tree!

A very dry tree, evidently. They cut it too early.
