I can’t figure out why she said “And so it was.” To me that means she was agreeing that she never saw Rusty again.

I’m glad for this unexpectedly happy ending.

So, Rusty did get a loving family in the end…I was hoping it would happen that way.

It ended the way I had hoped.

Now there is the happy ending we were all looking for. Very satisfying.

It’s fine. He went to live on a farm. He’s still there as a matter of fact.

he changed the story ….. the first version was she ended up hiding the dog outside and the dog ran off because the dad wouldn’t let her have it and she looked for it for weeks until one day the dad found it for as a surprise and they kept it and the dog was the dads best friend
