John, you nincompoop! Where were you when the barking was first happening?!

This is a formula that Lynn uses a lot in Sundays for comedy. Someone, usually Elly, does something either in the way of cleaning, cooking, or to get the dog out of the way, only for someone else to come along and quickly undo their efforts. I personally never found it funny but Lynn loves it and there are worse tropes out there.

and of course, it NEVER occurs to them what the neighbors are thinking about this noisy dog with his continual barking…

Don’t worry Elly, April could sleep through a hurricane.

Farley’s barking fonts are red, bold and italic. I wonder how that corresponds to sound.

That’s what dogs do when squirrels, cats or birds invade their “home domain”. Live with it or don’t have pets. Think of your kids when someone invades their space …..same goes for dogs, cats, birds, etc.

When that happens I get on the warpath and find out who let the darn dog out-AGAIN!

It doesn’t matter what names you call him, that tree rat isn’t coming down to fight.

I remember reading this one at work, everyone at the break table looked at me I laughed so hard…lol

They obviously do not have noise regulations in their area.

Did no one notice that April is sleeping on her tummy and not on her back? This original strip was done back when that was the accepted way for newborns to sleep. Now that almost qualifies as child abuse. Can’t believe everybody missed that one.

Lynn’s Comments:

Elizabeth uses this ploy as well! If Mommy says no, then just approach Daddy with those eyes!

“A dog returns to its vomit” (Proverbs 26:11). Or something like that in this case.

Now they say the baby should be put to bed on its back.

That’s exactly what happens at our house!
