Aw, Sophie looks so pleased and relieved to have her Woman back. Maybe knowing her Woman is close will give her the confidence to take a chance on the Tusslemania festivities! Or maybe not – maybe being close to cheesecake and friendship is more Sophie’s style, which would also be totally fine.
“Where shall we three meet again in thunder lightning or in rain? when the Hurlyburly s done when the battle’s lost and won?” Little do they know that the Hurlyburly’s is about to begin!
I hate to poop on the friendship party, but I very much doubt that the witches from the original Macbeth would have been able to produce a decent cheesecake, given that it would have been unlikely for them to have access to the sugar needed (as it was still prohibitively expensive at this point in European history), and because it took nearly another three hundred years for cream cheese as we know it to be invented. Also, had witches been famous for their culinary magic (e.g., making New York style cheesecake at the dawn of the 17th century), they would have been installed in wealthy kitchens, not living in bogs and dodging accusations of having relations with the Devil.
Let’s all share a wonderful slice of imaginary cheesecake (that way our diabetic Orbsters won’t be harmed) to give us a happy start on another week of gloom, doom, and the unknown. And let’s keep sending up prayers for the victims of this plague and their families. I love you all, please be careful and stay healthy!
Our son is named Macgregor, Mac for short. If he had been a female, I was championing the name Macbeth, Beth for short. My wife, the English/History major was against it.
I am gleefully waiting for Tusslemania to start. On another note, there’s a black cat hanging around. I think he’s an unfixed male (we can smell l him after he’s been by), and his purpose in life right now seems to be to drive Yum Yum into a poofing, hysterical, aggressive frenzy; she hurls herself at the living room window, screeching and growling and screaming and yelling obscenities.
Today is Pencil Day! Personally, I love pencils of all kinds, from the fence posts they gave us in kindergarten and first grade to the high tech mechanical pencils that you can get today. I don’t think I ever met a pencil I didn’t like, (provided it was sharp). My personal favorite is the Pentel™ PS315 0.5 mm.—I own three. Not bad for something that started out as the charred end of a stick at the dawn of human existence. (I do note that some artists still prefer a refined version of the charred stick, and do amazing things with it.)
However, this brings up a philosophical conundrum: If “the pen is mightier than the sword,” what then is the pencil?
Yeah, sure they made some great cheesecakes. That is if you like snake fillets, newt eyes, frog toes, baby owl (howlet) wings, lizard legs, bat fur/wool, adder tongues (fork), dog tongues, legless lizard (blind worm) stings, dragon scales, wolf teeth, shark mouth and stomach, oh, and best of all, the flesh of PEOPLE in your cheesecake.

But The Woman has said the name of The Scottish Play! All those who know theatrical traditions know she’s doomed.

Yes, Puck, cheesecake is an excellent distraction, but with 7 cats in one room, there should be noise and drama, NOT a deafening quiet!

Used to be a local strip club that had his girls recite the witches’ lines to add socially redeeming value to the act. Talk about your cheesecake!

Here comes the fun, doo doo doo doo, here comes the fun
And we hope it’s all night
Little tusslers, it’s been a long cold lonely waiting
Little wrestlers, it feels like years since it’s been here
Here comes the fun, doo doo doo doo, here comes the fun
And we hope it’s all night
Little tusslers, the smiles returning to the faces
Little wrestlers, it seems like years since it’s been here
Here comes the fun, doo doo doo doo, here comes the fun
And we say it’s all right
Fun, fun, fun, here it comes
It’s all night, it’s all right

“When the litter’s poured and settled. When it’s users are no longer nettled.”
“Things will be in a fine fettle.”
“Where the place?”
“At the Woman’s home.”
“There to meet with kittycats!”

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Brings ham and bacon from day to day,
To the last morsel of kibble in time;
And all our yesterdays have brought our food
The way to spider treats. Out, out, kat koffee!
Life’s but a bowl of treats and kibble, and Buzzy Mouse,
That struts and frets his hour with family and friends,
And then is so very cute. It is a tale
Recorded by Burt, full of sound and FX,
Signifying everything.
