Weâre on a gradual reopening in Texas. I dunno if the stay at home is over today or if itâs âStay at home if youâre not going to an open business.
May 15th at the earliest in my state, but, my county is still increasing the number of infections, so, I may be spending all of Spring at home. Get another reason to hate where I live!
Here in Connecticut, Governor Lamont is really on top of things. Heâs being cautious, and I trust him completely. So far, his plan for easing restrictions is to start reopening some businesses on May 20, depending on continued hospitalization reductions â theyâve fallen 8 days in a row so farâ but no plans currently in the works to end protective measures such as social distancing. Thatâs fine by me. Iâm 70 years old and have had respiratory issues for years.
This really shows the silliness of the Open Now protest. Open all you want, people will not do stupid stuff just because you want their business. Well, some will⊠Business will be normal when thereâs a good treatment.
Good, common sense rules in Illinois. I wear a mask and gloves at the grocery store (or anywhere social distancing is not possible). On my walking route, I have a good path where social distancing is easy. People pay attention and are mindful of healthy practices. Most businesses wonât place their employees and customers at risk. Few, if any, restaurants can turn a profit at 25% capacity. Smart business people wonât reopen to put lives at risk and lose money. Stay safe and be observant.
George Takei aka Sulu from the original Star Trek declared that all the states rushing to open things up are making everyone who is going to rush out like nothing is actually wrong Redshirts. If you have to go out, wear a mask and protect yourself.
Nebraska is allowing restaurants to open, at 50% capacity, and lots of restrictions. Many restaurants have announce that they will wait. Pickup and delivery is fine for now.
Mein FĂŒhrer, Washington St. Gov. Jay Inslee, has his inmates locked down âtil May 31.. donât think heâs smart enough to use the Copenhagen restart protocol.
YeahâŠI remember thinking it would end in May 2020. It didnât. Thought Iâd go back to in-person university in the fall at least. I didnât. Hoped itâd at least be over by the time 2020 was over. It wasnât. Hoped the vaccines would be the end of it. It wasnât â Delta happened. I didnât go back to in-person classes until January 2022. I still wear a mask pretty often because people canât be bothered to take precautions they should when they get sick with COVID, a cold, a flu, or whatever. As I type this, Iâm still getting over a cold I got from a Starbucks barista who coughed without a mask on. May we never have another COVID-style pandemic again.

The sun needs to remove itâs mask, as itâs UV rays should have full exposure to the Earthâs atmosphere, in order to help kill the virus.

Cases continue to rise here in Indiana. So if they relax the âstay in placeâ order, I plan to continue to quarantine myself for the time being.

Doesnât Lio have one of those power-mad gubernators who arbitrarily extent the Lockdown by two weeks here, a month there, with no end in prospect?
You donât know what youâre missing, Lio!
