I always loved the warping visual effects Bill drew in these time travel strips.

Well at least it wasn’t an F!

Really? A “D” instead of an “F”? Did Calvin take a peek at Susie’s test?

When did Calvin ever get an A on his homework? Well, there was that creative writing assignment time where he travelled into the day’s future where it was almost bedtime so he could pick up the assignment and then he and his future self traveled into the present to talk sense into that self into writing the assignment. Past Hobbes and future Hobbes wrote the assignment based on the Calvins’ adventure. Calvin received an A+.

Well, a “D” in math would explain a lot about the calculations vs the results with Calvin’s imagination.

Hobbes has n interesting question. Unfortunately we’ll never know the answer.

It would require thinking outside of the box

If time travel were possible, the question of where exactly was this spot on earth (or any spot on earth) 140 million years ago would not be so easy to answer and very important.

I wonder if Calvin will run into Dr. Who on this trip.

I thought he got a F in math!

You see Hobbes, it involves a lot of quantum physics and advanced science that even I don’t understand. The power of cardboard technology is unstoppable!

That would be quite some math. As I understand it, time stops at the speed of light, so nothing can go faster than light speed.

I want vortex googles. I’d wear them to the store. With Mask. That would freak people out.

He didn’t say it was “good” math!

Calvin got D in everything. He’s not the Stupendous Man, he’s the D-Man! Only when it comes to imagination, he’s the A+ Man!

It’s all in the frame of reference.

We are moving inexorably forward in time and rarely give it a thought. I might not live to see time properly integrated into steady state mass/energy equations (yes, I know that sounds like a contradiction in terms) but it is coming.

Little known fact: Since Einstein was a genius and since the letter D is closer to the letter E (for Einstein) than it stands to reason that getting a D in math almost sort of makes Calvin an almost genius, which explains the how and why of their scientific progress going boink.

Hobbes, it depends on whether you’re inside the moving box or standing outside the box watching it go by. You are simultaneously getting older, getting younger, and staying the same age. Okay? Now enjoy your Fritos.

That’s okay Hobbes. You don’t really need to fully understand the technology to effectively operate the controls.

He got a D in math because he was able to copy off Suzy, until Suzy got wise…

If he got a D in math, it’s most likely Hobbes’ fault since he probably did the “work”.

He is good at the technology and hard math, not wierd-to-me school division, multiplication, subtraction, and addition, Hobbes.
