Each morning, I ask my wife what she wants for dinner. It sometimes gets to her, to keep deciding, even when she says ‘something with chicken, beef, or pork.’ The ‘something, means that I have to look at what staples we have, and find a recipe for it. Many of these ’Googled’ recipes have become favorites, I only wished I knew how to cook(don’t ask my wife, she will tell stories about me).
We are confused about how people are gaining so much weight during stay at home. I have lost 15 lbs & had to take husband’s jeans in 2 inches for him as when he stood up, they literally fell off to the floor.
We cut meals to 2/3 or less compared to normal to save food in the house as when we went out in mid March stores did not have much & he was afraid that we would not be able to get more food, plus both are high risk for age & medical conditions so not safe to go food shopping. He figured we had food for 2 weeks, I figured a month +. Last week he decided to order food as he figured less a week of food left, I still was figuring at least a month.
We try our hardest in general not to order things as there is always a problem – we had been having items we have to get by ordering sent our PO box for safety – items delivered to the house are left at the foot of our short driveway within easy reach of the sidewalk and in view of the bus stop across the street (we live on a 4 lane main road). But we can’t do that right now as it would have to forwarded to the house anyway as we can’t go and pick up the mail – and due to a technicality most of our mail at the box cannot be forwarded to us so we have to depend on the employees at that PO mailing us our mail in an envelope every few weeks when I call.
We gave in and he ordered food items online last week from Walmart – every day for teh 4 days the pieces of the order were coming (from around the country) I had to wake up 3 hours early to start checking if anything had been delivered yet and then had to check hourly to take it in as quickly as possible. Can arrived dented to the point that two were almost bent in half. Packages in the cartons were smashed – in one’s day delivery 40% of cans were dented and in another day’s delivery – 5 of 8 cans were dented. We were given a refund for the cans – but they are not safe to eat. At least they were left our front steps instead of at the curb.

I’m not adverse to eating meat but reading “steak and fries” at 7am was revolting to my culinary sensibilities!

I believe my wife has gained a bit working from home. The 25 lb box of scone mix may have something to do with it. However, I don’t ask.

exercising is a tough way to loose weight. Work out hard enough and when you are done the body screams for either a nap or a snack.
