That’s the best recommendation for chicken salad I’ve ever heard. I don’t much like chicken.

My wife came up with a great chicken salad recipe. lettuce, apples, walnuts, Miracle Whip, and … um …. Oh yeah, chicken. I like it in the pocket of pita bread.

She’s looks oddly happy preparing it. Is that because she knows he doesn’t like it?

The total is less than the sum of the parts?

And I’ll eat a Waldorf salad when you make one taste like Waldorf.

Kinda like tuna salad without the fishy taste.

Sausage on the other hand is kinda the opposite…..

Food snobs make me tired.

I like chocolate, steak, jicama, orange juice, whole wheat toast with butter, mashed potatoes… but I doubt I would like them mixed together.

Why do many people say “Tuna Fish Salad” but not “Chicken Bird Salad”?

One of the many things I don’t understand is taking a basic food and so adulterating it with “enhancements” that one can’t taste the basic food.

So your wife invent the Waldorf salad (minus a couple things)?

Chicken salad should be kept simple. There should be 3 parts chicken to one part fresh crunchy veggies or nuts and just enough mayo to hold it together. The chicken should be seasoned before mixing and it too should be kept simple. Adding cheeses to chicken salad usually does little to improve it. I love cheese but not on chicken salad, maybe a bit of Feta if your going for a Greek gyro type. Chicken salad is best kept simple so it enhances the chicken.

I love chicken salad.

Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise and doesn’t pretend to be. It is salad dressing and says so right on the label. Why is Miracle whip “slumming it”? It’s just a taste preference, nothing more.

I had to look up what is meant by chicken salad in the US. Seriously, you put a man on the moon, and you don’t understand that you can make a chicken salad that tastes like chicken, and like delicious chicken.

Arlo, it does if you roast chicken thighs.

3 cups chicken, 3 cups total of chopped celery, ccarrots apple, grapes, nuts. That’s 6 total cups of stuff, the perfect amount for an 8 ounce jar of Dukes mayo. Add a level tablespoon of curry powder and two teaspoons lime juice to the mayo, stir, and mix with the chopped stuff. As others have said, serve in a whole wheat pita.
